Is the trannie a 4l60E? if so the ranine is going out, if it revs high and you dont notice the increase in speed like it should, the trannie is slipping this particular trannie is known for this its junk, chevy should recall them all and pay us for the headache.....Another issue could be that nasty cat-converter.. away to check is to tap on it, if it sounds rock solid it clogged need to be replace, or after driving for an extended amount of time, when you park the ceh, look under it to see if the cat is glowing red....if so its the cat...let me know about thses thing and we can go from there ....

The first thing you must do is check the engine control system for fault codes. To do that go here and read instructions.

My 1996 GMC Suburban has 170600 miles on it. In the last week, it drives fine until you travel about 1/4 mile & reach 30 mph. Then, you loose acceleration. When you push the gas, the engine just revs....

Try dropping the tranny fluid and changing the tranny filter and filling with fresh fluid. Sounds like the tranny is sleeping between shifts.

1991 Chevy C1500, 4.3L V-6, 5-speed tranny. Is there adjustment to reduce clutch pedal play? I just replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders but still have excessive play. Repair manuals I have do...

If you have already gotten all the air out of the system, you may have to remove the clutch assembly and check the finger height compared with the one you removed as some designs are lower or higher than the original. You can either try to find one that matches the old one or change the throwout bearing (they come in several heights)...In your case I'd use a longer one.
The transmission has nothing to do with clutch release height and the only part it plays in clutch operation is that the neck on the front cover acts as a guide to stabilize the throwout bearing. (always make sure there is a light coating of grease on it so the bearing does not seize on there when in use.)

i own an accord like yours and it started doing the same just recently that means friction disk inside the tranny are slipping ..in other words your tranny has little to live i recomend you buy some lucas non slip trans oil its helps it wont fix the problem but it'll give you enought time to save up and repair your tranny or sell it .......

Replace the shift solenoids (there are two) inside the tranny, just in front of and to the right of the tranny filter.
