Question about 1995 Cadillac Eldorado

Cooling fans not working

I have a 1999 cadillac deville. The cooling fans do not operate like they should. If you disconnect the battery or pull the fuses out and reconnect this stuff the cooling fans will work for about five times of starting the car then they quit working until you do this again. I have replaced the fan relays and the temp sensor. I am wandering if it is a computer problem and if so what is the name of the computer piece i need. Please help because i have been screwed to many times by Rooster Bush Cadillac in Morganton NC, NEVER GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the fans do not come on by design until about 230 degrees fahrenheit so are you sure there is a problem?? that is well on the way to hot on the gauge.

99 cadillac deville runnin hot

Look for the silly stuff. Check for things blocking off the radiator, coolant level, water pump belt, etc. If none of those help, check the cooling fan, coolant temperature sensor, fan relay and fan fuses. If everything there is working, consider a stuck thermostat, an obstruction in the cooling system itself or a failed water pump. Kind of a long shot but engine timing can also make it run hot. Hope this helps.

Ac not working on 1996 cadillac deville

Give this a try. It woked for me. Disconnect your positive battery cable and count to ten. Re connect battery cable and see if that does it. If not you may have a bad pressure switch on your A/C system.

Location of cooling fan sending unit 1999 cadillac deville?

If you are refering to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor,it is located on the right rear of the engine below the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve.

HINT: If your Deville is equipped with the analog instrument cluster and the temperature gauge is working, or if you have the digital instrument cluster and the driver information center (DIC) has been diplaying messages telling you that the engine is hot, the problem with your engine cooling fans is NOT the sensor.

The fans dont turn them on. there is engine overheading. need the cadillac deville 1999 diagram

You should be able to find this in the Haynes manual for your model. Many car parts stores carry these books.

The first troubleshooting steps you can do without a diagram. Inspect the fan wiring to make sure it isn't damaged. In particular, check the connectors for corrosion. Also (with the battery disconnected or the engine cold), check the fans to make sure you don't have a pair with bad bearings. They should spin easily with no slop or wobble in the bearings (worn bearings can bind up).

Cadillac 1999 DeVille Battery goes dead after sitting for a few days. Had battery checked and it's good. What should I check?

You should check for voltage draws when the vehicle is off... Disconnect the negative battery termal, Pull dome light fuse, and connect a light or volt meter between the two.

common offenders are alternator diodes. These fail and cause drain.

Then you have to check, circuit by circuit, until you find the offending system.

Also, before doing anything, disconnect negative terminal and see if the battery is still fully charged after a few days...

Where do i find the thermostat and how do i replace it on a 2001 cadillac deville

The thermostat in the northstar engine is located at the bottom radiator hose (unlike most conventional cooling systems), the hose connects into the housing where you will also find the water pump.
Remove the hose from the housing, then remove the two bolts on the flange, the thermostat can then be pulled out.
Take note of the orientation of the thermostat as you remove it.
Don't forget the new gasket, you may have to order this separately.
