This could be brake drag. make sure there is proper clearance between the pad/shoe and the disc/drum.

Sounds like your pads are glazed. You probably need to replace the pads, and likely the rotors.

Oldsmobile Intrigue front end howl

Need more info...front end you say... A particular side? Is replaced tire the same as other 3 tires? hear it while driving, or braking, or both? Hear it more steering left or right or going around a corner?

Could be a front wheel/hub bearing is my only guess at this point. Howling or groaning could also mindicate a transmission problem.

Whenever i apply the brakes on my 1995 jimmy there is a loud holwling noise coming from the rear end It also occurs when I turn corners or slow down Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Hi There.
there could be a couple of reasons for your predicamint?? 1 The brakes are not self adjusting, and therefore you may have a bit of play/excess travel in the brake linings. 2they could be clogged with brake dust deposit, as for the howling at low speed. "mmmmm" is there any chance that the brakes have got wet and caused a build up of dirt???

Medium humming noise when backing up at low speeds

Probably rear brakes. Clean them up or get them looked at and try again.

The shimmy is mostly likely being caused by one of two things either your alignment is out or one of your tires is bubbling or warped take it to Les Schwab and ask them to check it. I had the same probelm years ago when I had my Civic, for example I had driven on snow chains on bare ground for one too many miles and caused channels to form in the shape of my chains on the tire which caused a biggggggg shimmy. Live and learn I was only 16.
