Question about 1985 BMW 5 Series
I have a 1985 bmw 535. last year i changed both fuel pumps and the fuel filter. recently the car hesitated and now it starts but won't stay running.it only runs for a couple of seconds and if i press the gas pedal it doesnt respond.
Having same sort of problems my pump under the car is noisy and sounds like a ratchet but decent fuel pressure new injetors plugs wires and ignition coil it will idle fine but when you put the pedal down at all it is very un responsive I think maybe timing issue cause distributer is not clamped down but even when timed it still has very little power and rpms slowly climb even on a rev I need help just don't know what to do could it be as simple as a cap and rotor or does this round like a deep problem

Few checks can be made crank sensor not correctly positioned defective air flow meter can be jammed have you check the fuel pressure and del. as a new pump can be defective
