yep got em. thanks. already didi 3 on other side, but looking at this side there's a lot more in the way and that's a BIG engine to be jacking up and down and the mount thats riveted??? bolts on the exhaust are probably rusty and high risk of breakage... etc..

There are expandable freeze plugs that are easier to install, still not a fun job though

How many freeze plugs are on a 2000 blazer 4.3 vortec

The freeze plugs are spaced out in a straight line along each side of the block. If you see others at the same height in front or behind where the motor mount is, then yes it probably is a freeze plug.

Put a jack under the engine with a block of wood between the oil pan and the jack head. Raise it slightly to remove the motor mount through bolt, then remove the mount from the engine block. Now you should be able to replace the plug. Use a punch to drive in one side, then grip with pliers and pull it out. Clean the recess before installing new plug. Auto stores stock them in all dimensions, or take your old one in for matching up. The rubber expansion plugs work well, too, and easier to install.

Yes there would be a welsh plug in that area and it is probably rusted out.

Replace freeze plugs in 08 Ford F250 Diesel

if you remove the engine mount then you must put a jack under the engine in safe area not to damage sump etc , to get old core plug out carefully drill a hole off centre of it and prise it out , clean and check hole surface , if ok then put sicaflex type glue on new core plug and hit home to same depth the old one came out !

I have a water leak near the front passenger sideof the motor its above the oil pan near a freeze plug but its not the freeze plug that i can see is there another freeze plug maybe behind the motor mount?

If the car is at operating temperature and the water is cool then it could just be air conditioning condensation.. Air conditioning units are usually located at the passenger side of the engine. If it is cool water it is nothing to worry about.
