Have you tried hot wiring the fan motor itself (even wiring it backwards will make it run, but at least verify that the motor is good or it obviously can't come on.

Temp sending unit defective or fan relay not powering the fan.

Overheats at idle and low speed or higher speed

Will it cool down over 35 mph?

What motor is in this?
if you disconnect the fan swith sender unit in inlet manifold the fans should come on all the time while ignition switch is in on/running
this checks circuit very quickly then if fans come on replace switch. if fans dont come on check fan by jumper wire (powering up) to see if it works or not.if fan works have you checked fuses that power it up then power and earths to relay until you find problem

the above link contains test info for the circuit. 3 main problems if the fan itself is good:
1 ) corrosion in the relay socket..especially the ground
2) coolant temp sensor bad
3 ) relay bad

Rad fan won't turn on when the car is at operating

The first thing I would check would be the temperature sensor that sends a signal to the relay to turn the fan on. Of course make sure you have plenty of water in the radiator or the sensor won't work at all. I have seen anti-freeze come through the sensor and corrode the wires shorting them out. So it could be broken wires, unplugged wires or a bad sensor. I am not sure exactly where the sensor is at on the Pacifica but your local parts store could show you. It is usually in the intake or cylinder head.

My carhas been over heating and i noticed my fan is not working on my ratiator. could it be just a fuse

Could be a fuse or a relay, could be coolant temperature sensor/fan switch. It could also be that the fan motor has failed. If the fuse is good, test the fan and relay by jumping pins 30 and 87a at the rad. fan relay socket. If the fan comes on, replace the relay and retest. You can also check for 12v signal and ground on the other pins when the engine is hot to verify the temp. sensor is operating normally. If no 12v or if there is no ground on the rtelay control pins (NOT 30 and 87a), the sensor is probably bad. If the sensor is good and relay is good, 99.9% chance the fan motor is bad, even if it starts when relay is bypassed. The motor takes more power to start than to keep running, and can disrupt operation of the relay if it is marginal. Also look for corroded contacts, esp. ground wire connections.

198 mercury sable cooling fans motor

Cooling fans ( on radiator ) only come on when the engine reaches a certain (hot) temprature. There is a temp sensor threaded into the radiator end reservoir that switches a relay off and on that runs the fans. Either the temp sensor or the relay is probably bad. Normally , those fans will not be on if the car is moving , the air flow from just driving is sufficient to cool the rad. If you stopped and idled for a while , eventually the rad would heat up enough for the fans to come on.

1998 mercury tracer. overheated while waiting in

It might be a bad relay or a bad engine coolant temp sensor. Fan is likely good. Might have 2 relays. See owner manual.

Aux. Fan not comming on when hot or cold... Boils over. Blew out heater valve... REPLACED: New 3 Prong Fan Relay located by Rt. Sd. Batt. Radiator Relay ( its a 2 prong push in Radiator ). Checked for...

Replace your temperature sensor. There is a sensor specifically for the cooling fans that triggers the relays, and tells the fans to turn on/off. The relays won't energize unless it gets a signal from that sensor.

2002 pt cruiser overheating was told i need a new raditor and thermostat for 1 grand sounds fishy

Flush rad & change coolant & thermostat. Check operation of rad fan, & make sure it is coming on when engine reaches normal operating temperature. Be sure to bleed air out good when refilling rad/cooling system. Start engine & turn heater on when refilling & let rad fan come on & off at least 2 or 3 times before putting cap back on rad, and refill rad as needed as you do this. then fill return bottle to proper level & see what happens.

First you need to make sure the fans are coming on and if they are make sure they are coming on when the car is over heating because there is a fan relay by your fuses if its going bad it wont turn the fans on or it willl only turn them on sometimes..
