Question about Chrysler Cars & Trucks
I have a 2010 town & country and am having problems with it starting. A few weeks ago my wife had to get someone to boost her to get it started. The battery terminals where pretty dirty so I cleaned these and has worked good until today. If I boost it it starts fine. Once you shut it off it has a clicking sound and the dash lights are blinking. There is still poer to the lights and doors. Is it just a bad battery?

THIS IS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE STARTER MOTOR SOLENOID, REMOVE AND REPLACE THE STARTER OR JUST REPLACE THE SOLENOID ON TOP OF THE STARTER IF YOU CAN BUY IT SEPERATE.

I had these problems on my 2005 911 when the battery died. Apparently when it goes IT GOES. I had no problem with the battery until this time and then suddenly it was dead.
I've heard since that this is common on Porsche 996 when the battery is dead and then is should also be the case with the 986 Boxter.
I removed the old battery and left the car without a battery for at least 30 minutes (while doing some other maintainance). Put a new battery in and no problems after that. On most cars if you disconnect the battery for like 15 minutes the maintainance computer resets its self and all warninglights should dissapear unless there is a real fault, then the appropriate light should come back on!

The most common cause of a "No Crank" condition is a bad starter solenoid. The starter solenoid is a large coil that, most often, sits on top of the starter and engages the Bendix drive with the flywheel and sends power to the starter. If the internal coil goes bad, the solenoid won't engage the Bendix or turn the starter on. This condition will not cause any noticeable noise other than the clicking.

Testimonial: "It was very helpful, suspected the starter but wanted to hear from an expert. The promt reply was outstanding, thank you so much. "
it mite sound weird but your alternator mite be the prob like the diode on it can be out and it will make your car not start that is why your gauge jump like that so next time your gauge's jump as you try to start it but it just clicks it mite be the alt. hope this will help people out there.
