on the V-6 or the 4 cylinder models, this would mean that your o2 sensor heater circuit, if you had this replaced the last time, I would check the connections, they may be loose, Good Luck!

SOURCE: failed emission NOx on a 93 Honda accord ex its

The only thing I can think of checking would be the EGR valve, a faulty cat converter or faulty o2 sensor. Converter shouldn't set off check engine light though unless it is clogged causing too much back pressure, most likely EGR Valve.

SOURCE: Hi my 1996 honda accord radio need a code to play

copy the vin number and call the local dealer - also ask for any recalls --- then also ask for the code - if the radio came with the car they should give it to u in person or on the phone - if the radio didn't come with the car -well that will require taking the radio to a honda dealer and going from there -

Look at this information and don't ever over fill the car as it can push fuel into the emissions canister and cause problems.

Tip

I get OBD codes P0420 and P0430

P0420 and P0430

P0420 means Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, Bank 1

P0430 means Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, Bank 2

It means that the O2 sensors are good, and the O2 sensors are telling you that your catalytic converter, in the exhaust system is not working fine, as its emissions are polluting the air too much.

The catalytic converter is part of the exhaust system. The way to test this part is by doing an emission test. The two OBD codes that you are getting are already a test telling you that the converter must be replaced, unless an emission test done at a garage says the opposite.

This kind of problem will trigger the check engine light, and your car will also waste too much fuel.
You also risk to get in trouble if the car goes through an Air Pollution control, as the car won't pass an emission test in this condition.

To conclude, the Catalyst System must be replaced, the O2 Sensors are fine.

This is a repair that should be done at a garage, however you can find DIY instructions here:How to Replace a Catalytic Converter or you can get more detailed instructions, and step by step illustrated procedure purchasing a repair manual.

The orange engine light has come on on my Honda Accord 2000 model. Can you tell me what it is please?

So that light basically means there is the symptom of the emissions system not working for whatever reason and your car is making more emissions than it should (and there can be a lot of potential causes). Basically it is the car equivalent of "cough" (which could be a viral cold, the flu, bacterial pneumonia, and a whole host of other things).

You wanna think about what recently changed. If you just filled up the gas, it can be something as simple as the gas cap was left off or is loose. If you just got your oil changed (and this happened to me), maybe they put in too much oil, for which you should check the dipstick. Or what you haven't done as part of regular maintenance, like you need new spark plugs or distributor cap.

You can also bring your car to the auto parts store and they can connect a "code reader" to your car's computer to figure out better what the car is trying to tell you. This is many times completely free. and then you can know which direction you need to go in.

with p0441 did you replace the gas cap on all the way? that will cause this code every time. and or have you ever replaced the gas cap?

Jeep 2008 Commander 5.7 code p0430 What does this code mean? Thanks,

code --catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 2 -means that the o2 sensor [bank 2 and after cat converter] is detecting that the converter in not working efficiently as it should as per specs--check the 02 sensor --if good possible exhaust leak if good --possible cat converter gone bad and since it is an 08 cat should be covered under warranty check with a dealer most converters are covered for five years doesnt matter how many miles on vehicle

The p0300 What does that mean? Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engien's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 OBD DTC code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-
==================================
The p0430 What does that mean? Basically this means that the O2
downstream of the catalytic converter on bank 2 is detecting that the converter is not working as efficiently as it should be (according to specs). It is part of the vehicle emissions
system.

Engine light comes on, could it be the gas cap?

Hello, Yes you can set a code in your computer if the gas cap is loose. Plus do not fill with gas with the engine running or key on as this will set an evaporative emissions code. Thank you
