its the ground wire for the driver door, and posably an ornge one, in the black shielding to the door they rip all the time but yet for some reason jeep has yet to make a recall. any who you disconect the battery then pull the shielding back and patch the wires together.

You will need to remove the door panel and find out what is broken or loose. Unscrew the arm rest and release the clips that you will find around the outer edge of the interior door panel. Once you have it open, look in the bottom of the door to find any parts that have come loose. You may want to remove the panel on the passenger side so you have an example of how a working one should look.

It sounds like you have a bad door lock actuator.How ever this should not keep you from opening the door.All you should have to door is use your key or open it from the inside manually.
