SOURCE: Transmission fluid capacity for 2000 Kia Sephia?

The four speed automatic shows a total fill (that is all the fluid it can hold) is 5.7 Quarts. So if you just dropped the pan and relplaced the filter, you shouldnt need more than 4 quarts and likely you would have a little extra with that.

SOURCE: Leaking brake fluid

It is the proportioning valve. It was only available at the dealerships repair center for me. $70.28. its a very common problem. and a pain in the **** getting the old one off. i found you cuz im trying to find out how to get the brake lines off. a 10 mm open end wrench does not work. going to try 100 mm line wrench in a minute. wish me luck. by the way there are 6 lines running to it and 2 bolts hold it to the firewall

SOURCE: 2002 Kia Spectra stuck gear shift

Sounds like you need a new shifter assembly, or the brake switch. Most likely will be the shifter though if you can move it out of park with the override.

SOURCE: I have a 1999 Saturn SL 2. The transmission fluid

The Saturn TAAT takes 6.5 quarts when empty and roughly 4.5-5.5 quarts when doing a drain and refill.

The proper way to check the fluid is to take the car on the highway for about 15 miles of highway driving. This will get the transmission up to operating temperature. Idling will do no good for fluid that is just being circulated and needs to get warm.

Then return to your driveway and place the vehicle in park and keep it running. Pop the hood and look for the red dipstick just left of your battery. That is the transmission dipstick. Pull it out and clean it off then quickly put it back in completely and take it back out (do this somewhat rapidly). Get a reading and repeat to get accurate results.

There is no "check plug hole" that diagram is not correct and the 99 S-series does not look like that. There is no "fill cap" all ATF is entered through the dipstick via a funnel.

Next check your shifter cable where it attaches to the top of the transmission. If you look behind your behind directly down towards the ground you can see a half disc shaped black plastic piece. This is the range sensor. This is where the cable attaches to the transmission. If it is loose or incorrectly calibrated to the proper gear then the transmission will not correspond to the correct gear on the shifter inside the car.

2002 Kia spectra automatic trans gears keep slipping could it be the TCM? Or the input and output speed sensors?

First I would check the fluid level and color/clarity. And if not done, or if you don't know if/when, do a tranny service. That means drain the old fluid, remover tranny pan and clean it, with special attention to the built-in magnet. Replace the filer and pan gasket. Refill it to proper amount per specifications. A Chilton/Haynes repair manual for this make/model/year will lead you through the procedure. It also gives the timetable for when it should be done as part of general maintenance. There is also a troubleshooting section where you look at symptoms and it gives list of possible causes. You can get these repair manuals at local parts stores or Walmart.

Where is the dip stick to check transmission fluid in a 2002 kia spectra

On the 2002 Spectra, it is just left of the air filter box. It has a red "button" on top of it. It's not a "loop" like the oil dipstick. It's just like a knob for a drawer, but vertical.

With an automatic transmission, you would add transmission fluid into the ATF fill port, which is located beside the transmission's dipstick.

I hope this helps you, if so please show me the 4 thumbs up for this free solution. Thanks Mike from Fixya.

Automatic transaxle filter change

set the emergency brake and jack the front of the vehicle up and put on jack stands or pull up on ramps then set the brake. find the tranny pan it will either take a 10mm socket or and 8mm to remove bolts remove the bolts from one end to the next to allow the pan to come down at an angle to drain the fluid in a pan once finished draining remove pan to get to the filter. filter is probably bolted in also with same 8mm bolts remove bolts then filter replace with new one pan gasket might be rubber and reusable if new filter does not come with one. replace pan and refill vehicle with fluid usually 3-4 quarts put in 2 and check the level after vehicle warms up and in neutral
