Have had to troubleshoot similar issues - if there are no fault codes - don't rule out Tune up problems like missfiring spark plugs.
When the Transmission Torque Converter is engaged "Lock up" and in OverDrive - every missfire from the engine can be felt.
Let me know if this helps at all
Thank You

You first off, have to get a fault code reader on it and look the code up in a Haynes Manual in the Emission Control section of the manual for your car. Get back to us in the forum with those codes and we can assist you much better. Could be a torque converter solenoid, but without a fault code... you guess is as good as mine!

Low transmission fluid, blocked filter, bad OD clutch pack. This needs to go to the transmission guy.

SOURCE: my overdrive light is flashing

If your overdrive light is flashing, it is trying to tell you that there is a transmission failure. You will have to scan your powertrain control module to find out what is wrong.

2006 crown vic, What are the symptoms of bad transmission range sensor

not shifting --- slow shifting --- missing gear changes --- no OD or reverse or slow shifting to them. Have a pressure test done on the transmission to check for internal damage and have the bands and clutch packs adjusted . Run fault codes if this is available on your vehicle.

2006 crown vic at 45-55mph vehicle is bucking,

When was the last time you had checked the spark plugs? My \'01 Grand Marquis had the same disease, which progressively got worse. Eventually it threw a code for a misfire. Pulled the plugs for a check and the electrodes were horribly eroded.

If you are going to do the job/check yourself, be careful as one bank of plugs is installed at a slight angle. I would also recommend that once you remove the boots, you use a shop vac (or vacuum in general) with a narrow attachment to suck out any debris from the well to avoid it from falling into the cylinder.

Since the new plugs (I also cleaned the boots and electrodes, and used dielectric grease on install) she is smooth as glass.

If the plugs are normal, you could check into the torque converter clutch (TCC), but normally the shaking would continue throughout the drive range and not only kick in at a particular RPM. Suggestion would be to put the car in 1st or 2nd on the gear select, and gradually increase speed until the engine is at about the same RPM as it would be for cruising 45-55 (a scan tool with live read will work to get RPMs). I tried this and got the same buck in 1st gear at about 13-15 mph and again in 2nd at about 25. It is not as herky jerky, but you will feel a little bucking. Another test I did to ensure the problem was in the plugs/ignition was leave the car in park, open the hood, and remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine. Using your hand, gently apply pressure to the throttle body opening it a bit. Before I replaced the plugs the engine was shuddering pretty bad as the engine RPMs increased.

2005 crown vic climate control module bad blows through defroster only

I can't say 100% on this but some vehicles still use vacuum to operate the blend air doors (electric solenoids or earlier cable to operate the tempature door).
You may have a vacuum issue and defrost would be the default position because you need your winshield clear more than heat on your face or feet.
Start at the intake manifold and follow your vacuum source.

Engine cuts out , does not throw a code

I also have a 2001 Crown Vic that developed a problem similar to this. It would lope and buck at around 40-45 MPH. I too changed the plugs, then changed the coil boots. It still missed. So I bought 1ea. new coil. After changing the new coil with three old ones, the missing stopped.
