SOURCE: 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 - Brake Lights

Most likely this is the brake pedal sensor switch. It is mounted on the brake pedal arm, and it has a screw adjustment mechanism. You will need to adjust it by turning the screw so the switch does not make contact when the brake pedal is pressed.

Shifter will not engage into any gears

if you mean the shifter won't move out of park, see if your brake lights work when you press the brake pedal. if they don't that's your problem. check fuse and brake light switch for broken wires or bad switch itself.

Breaks squeaking

sometimes it depends on quality of parts. if you went inexpensive, they WILL squeek. sometimes just getting parts from the dealer is the best way to go for piece of mind and piece. if the rotors were not machined it could have the same effect.

did you have them change the rotors too ? even brand new ones out of the box often require turning (machining). replace the pads and rotors and go easy on the brakes for the first little while
