OK Is there a fat hose(looks like a heater hose) coming off one of the valve covers that goes to a black plastic box? If so, make sure that box is not all gummed up inside.

  • Richard Scordino May 11, 2010

Remove it and shake it...the valve should move freely and can spray some carb cleaner through it to clean it up or get a new one (only about five bucks)

If your pcv is stuck wide open you will have a ton of vacuum in the engine cover. Likely it only stays running because the seals in the engine are in really good shape.

Check to make sure that the pcv valve is not stuck wide open.

Have you had a diagnostic scan ran? It sounds like you may be having a problem with the MAF sensor. The MAF regulates the amount of air taken into the car. The sensor responds to the engine temperature.

I need a tune up for my 2000 buick lesabre. What should I be expecting them to fix / change and how much would I typically face cost wise

they should replace the plugs, fuel filter, check and replace the air filter if its dirty, as far as cost every shop has a different hourly rate and their mark up on parts is different as well. you could be looking at around 200. this is just a guess.

2.2 litre 1995 gmc sonoma idles rough no trouble code. found hole i brake booster vaccum line fixed that. replaced and changed fuel filter, idle air control valve, got spark at coil packs, put new spark...

Three things you should check using a good code checker which can read sensor outputs - the throttle position sensor (TPS), the mass air flow sensor (MAF) and the EGR valve. While you are at it, replace the PCV valve.

Hello i have a 1995 buick park avenue that has a rough idle and stalls in the mornings after sitting over night the first two or three times it will stall but after that it idles rough til it gets warm,ok...

Try plug wires, that's about all you haven't replaced. Actually if you have an ohm meter you can test them - anything over 6k ohms per foot - REPLACE them. Also run a good fuel system cleaner through it and stay away from cheap gas.

Replacing my fuel filter on a 2000 Buick LaSabre Custom..any special tools needed and where is it located

There is no special tools needed, you will probably find the fuel fuel filter beneath the undercarriage of the vehicle, check both sides just below the seating area and if not found there you will have to trace the fuel line from the fuel tank forward intil you locate the fuel filter.

Cant find pcv valve on 2000 buick lasabre

The PCV valve is hidden on top of the intake manifold down in a little enclosure. There are two small bolts holding the PCV cover. Often there is a fairly large vacuum line coming into the enclosure. Remove the cover and pull the PCV valve that sits down into a gasket.
