What are the top most common causes for the injectors on a 2001 ford ranger to not fire/mis-fire

1. Fuel (ethanol) clogging
2. Sensor (crankshaft or camshaft) mis-communication...bad sensor or signal to computer
3. Electrical harness (age cracking, corrosion)
4. Fuel filter clogged, not sending proper fuel pressure
5. Fuel pressure too low (fuel pump)

Not necessarily in order...but start with fuel, move to electrical inspection, then sensor...unless you have a CEL code to start with first.

98 ford ranger idles shaky give gas smooths out floor it revs fine get on road real sluggish and popping only about 45 will only go up to 55 aand more gas u give it will pop and hesitate mind 1 though 3...

Several things may cause this: 1. Bad distributor cap. 2. loose connections on one or more spark plug wires. 3. Cracked coil. 4. Bad injector. 5. Cracked spark plug.
So did you recently pressure wash your engine? It is possible if you did that the cold water may have cracked a spark plug ceramic.
So this is a start. A place for you to begin to look.

1987 ford ranger no spark

You may want to check your distributor cap for any signs of unusual wear such as a crack. Even a hair line crack (that is very hard to see) can cause you lose spark. You may want to go ahead and replace both the distributor cap and rotor (a cheap fix) and see whether or not that helps.

Cracked spark plug insulator

that could happen because they are getting too hot......check for any means of resistance in the wiring or check for possible bad ground to the ignition system. and replace as neccesary
