SOURCE: 2006 elantra whirring noise while driving

Had a somewhat similar problem that only happened at 30 to 35 mph and higher. The plastic inner liner in front of the front wheel had become detached, somehow lost the two plastic pins that hold it in place and wind pressure would force it into contact with the tire and it made this strange light scratchy whirring noise. Used a stainless 1/4 20 bolt and nut to secure it, problem solved. Here's hoping.

I hear a loud grinding noise when i drive my car

Check front tyres & wheel bearings espesially the R/H/F. Feel tyre for high / low spots on inside & jack up & spin wheel if you get noise while jacked up it is not the tyres but wheel bearing or brake pads but more than likly a crook bearing by the sound of it. It needs to be tended to ASAP

2004 Mazda MPV makes loud sound when driving faster than about 60 km/hr

There is no way to estimate cost until you know the exact case of the noise. See the dealer for a test drive so a tech can listen to it.

Try slipping the drive belt (fan belt, alternator belt, or whatever you want to call it) off the engine, then run the engine momentarily without the belt. If the noise disappears, at least you now know it is not an internal engine problem, and it will be an issue with one of the pulleys, or belt-driven accessories.
