You will need to have the ac recharged by a certified ac repair shop, there's more to the ac than just recharging it, my husband does ac/r for fridges and cars and he has a setup to charge and read the pressure, but you will need to balance the oil as well, to much and you could damage the clutch and so forth, to little can overheat the system.......and you will need to make sure you put in the right kind for your ac system either r14 or r134 and such, if your system uses r14, and you want to put in r134 (it does cost less), your system will have to be adapted to the freon you want....hope this

There is nothing as coolant for AC. You have coolant for radiotors only and it is in the reserviour or return located in the hood/ bonnet.

What do I do to check for ac leak

You have two choices. Choice one take vehicle to a AC repair shop. Choice two get a AC leak detection kit and do it yourself. The kit works by adding a dye to the system and where the leak is it will glow green which can be seen using special glasses. You can also get AC freon with the dye in it

Where is the AC located on a 1995 camry coupe

If you are referring to Refrigerant when you say coolant in your AC, this is a very complicated job and needs special equipment and knowhow to replace it, and it can be dangerous. But if you are up to the task it is a small nipple mounted on the refrigerant line just above the accumulator that look like a soup can situated right of the radiator and in front of the battery.

When i drive my car and put the ac on it overheats

Check you water level in the radiator and expansion tank. Make sure you have water first because using the A/C puts a lot of stress on the engine, higher RPMs will make it run hotter. Make sure the fans are coming on. Does it overheat if it just sits there with the A/C running, or without it running?

Coolant is leaking when air conditioner is on.

Are you sure that it is coolant? The AC system evaporator/core does condensate and it is drained off from the core plenum through a tube that runs out under the passenger side of the fire wall and it can very much resemble a coolant leak (except that it is clear water from condensation and not coolant) and that is a normal condition.

However if it is actually coolant leaking it should not be intermittent and only leak when the AC is operating, and if it does have a coolant leak it should leak any time that the cooling system is pressurized.

Have you actually confirmed that there is a coolant leak and it is not just water from condensation, let me know if the fluid is actually coolant and the only thing that it would most likely be is a faulty radiator cap that is not holding pressure, and when the AC is operating it will cause the cooling system to work harder to cool the engine, and the radiator cap might not be able to handle the extra few pounds of pressure put on it by the AC system.

How do i put A/c coolant into a cadillac deville 1999. I dont have the owners manual and it needs some A/c fluid.

There is no such thing as an ac coolant, maybe the ac refrigerant you are refering to. The ac is not getting cold? You can buy a can of 134 that has its own charging hose and gauge. Find the low side line of the ac. Start the car first turn on your ac then connect the hose and charge it. It is very simple, now the gauge will show you how much you have in there already, and don't overcharge it.

Engine temp goes hot when A/C is running. A/C

Possible loose AC belt but more likely a water pump issue. Putting the AC on puts more strain on the water pump to circulate coolant which also would impact the AC performance.
