Question about 2000 Hyundai Accent

1 Answer

Tranny; Reverse works but no drive at all.

2000 accent has a code 1402 and I don't know if this has anything to do with tranny. My tranny works well in reverse but not in drive. So I installed another tranny but the problem is the same. Can you help? thanks

This is a lack of EGR flow related code, it has no affect on the trans operation, the problem u have is that the forward clutch has failed, to repair this the transaxle must be overhauled.

Auto transmission won't go in reverse

if all forward gears work properly and engauge in the correct position then your going to have the reverse band adjusted in the trans or rebuilt if your lucky and have lower milage the adjustment works alot of times i do suggest you have it done at a tranny shop as to not over adjust and they can also do a pressure test at the same time

'03 accent - reverse not engaging- drive wont shift above 30 mph -fluid is fine, battery is fine, brake/stop switch seems ok. cycled tranny thru gears &rechecked fluids & all ok -O/D lock switch...

Seems like your transmission has failed. Either some syncros or bearings are worn out. Its sounds like its time to either have it rebuilt or replaced.

What you can try first is disconnecting your battery cables(positive an negative).. What that does is reset your comuter..then re attach the cables and start the car to see if light comes back on.

Car will not go in reverse!

Have you changed your transmission fluid? I am assuming that it is automatic.Could be low on transmission fluid. Could also be filters in you tranny stopped up with slug/ gear shivers.Could also be band
in transmission needs adjusting.

Slow acceleration and jerking when put in drive or reverse

Just wondering if you had checked your trans fluid?
If it's at the right level I might go back to the place that did the tranny work and have a chat with them,
If your fluid is low you have to get it at the dealer, I think it is call sp5, I'll go check the bottle I have.
