SOURCE: 1999 clk convertible drivers side

Try this push the lock button on the console towards the lock position and hold it for 8 seconds or so to turn the function back on.Then check,if still the auto lock is not working for the driver side door then its faulty actuator sensor or faulty auto lock assembly.------Sounds like the door actuator needs to be replaced. There is a sensor on the door lock actuator that is failing to sense whether the lock button is up or down so it goes up and down several times trying to find its location. You will need to remove inner door skin to see what is wrong inside and to replace actuator. In some cases the auto lock assembly it self gets faulty. So that has to be replaced. If door lock actuator looks fine and working. You need to have some mechanical knowledge and it will take somewhere between 2-3 hours . You also need to drill out some pop rivets to make the job a bit easier. The mechanism is fairly tight to remove and re-install. The pop rivets will have to be replaced when the door latch mechanism is in place. MB will also sell you the pop rivets. Also check the rubber boot on the door panel. If its got rough then try lubing the boot and rod. Pull up the rubber boot that slides over the door pull rod and to put some lube on the rod. Just remove the door panel and you will see the rubber boot. ------------ This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.

it is not the actuators, try a different remote, you may have an issue with the car security system/body computer not functioning on the unlock driver door command, one press of remote is unlock driver door and 2 presses is unlock the other doors.

My door on the driverside will not lock or unlockwith the remote all other doors work ok

does it work with the switch (both drivers and passengers side?)

It could be the actuator is burned out its self if it doesn't work at all, or you have a broken wire in the door boot.

Other option is its a fault of the BCM. The door lock communications is a data signal on the cars CAN network... when do remote starts on a 01 GM product I use an interface module that will control the door locks, otherwise on certain models you have to wire into the circuit board in the drivers window switch as its the main control for the door locks when using the switch

On driver side and rear side on driver side, both doors will not lock and unlock when use remote key. How can I fix the power lock to lock and unlock?

If the door locks by using the door switch the fault is with the master control unit. So there is a link failure from the master control to the sub units in the door, it can be a break in the wiring harness in the door hinges as this remote trigger can be lost on the driver side and which goes parallel to the rear side.
remove the panel and check the lines, compare to the other side to find the missing line - open wire. You can loop or wire a new connection from the open section.

Does the switch inside for that door work ? Does the power window work for that door ? Check fuse DDM - 15 amp I/P fuse panel . Do you know where the insturment panel fuse box is located ?

Do you know anything about automotive electronic's , control module's ? Serial data communication networks ?
Circuit/System Description
The driver and passenger door lock and side window switches are integrated control module switch assemblies. The DDS and PDS door lock switches are normally open, 2 position rocker type switches, with detents for lock and unlock. The DDS and PDS are directly connected to the respective door lock actuator through the door lock actuator control circuits. When a door lock or unlock function is activated from the DDS or PDS, a serial data message lock or unlock command is sent to the other door switch and body control module.

Power locks don't work with remote or control from

The door lock/unlock input from the driver's key switch goes to the Door Multiplex control unit (main switch), the Door multiplex control unit then sends a signal on the BUS (CAN) circuit to the passenger's multiplex control unit; the passenger's multiplex control unit then controls all the door locks. The passenger's door lock key switch inputs to the passenger's multiplex control unit, if the locks work from the passenger's side key switch but not the driver's side key switch, the most likely cause is the driver's multiplex control unit (main switch) not sending the signal to the passenger's side multiplex control unit. This could also be the drivers side door lock actuator. Hope this helps!

Drivers Door Lock Problem

Press the passenger side door lock button. if the driver side door unlocks now but wont unlock when you hit the driver side door lock button, it is usually a network communication problem with the B CAN or a faulty Body Control Module.
