2008 ford escape hybrid idle too high

If you do not have a check engine light on you may have an issue with the electronic throttle control system, repair requires the system be scanned to see why it is idling to high. If you do have a check engine light on have the system tested for fault codes.

I have a 2003 ford escape my cooling fan is not coming on l suspect is the cooling sensor but I cannot locate it.

The engine cooling fan system is controlled by the on board computer (PCM), there is no separate fan sensor, it is done through the ECT sensor, if that was bad the check engine light should be on. I would think the fan control relays may be at fault here or the fan is just burned out or the connectors are melted, have seen both.

Hello! Both faults are pointing at the same Oxygen Sensor...Upstream Bank 2...Meaning in the exhaust header before the Cat. converter on the right side of the engine...O2 sensors generally cause a P-code as an effect rather than a cause...But in this instance it's a defective O2 Sensor...Replace...

What causes my ford escape to rough idle occasionally?

Could be a fault in the Evap system (a loose/defective gas-cap), water in the fuel, defective I.A.C. is possible.
When the rough idle issue occurs does the engine light come on?

MERCURY 2000 ODB2 CODES P0400, P00A0, P0401

P00A0 is a factory readable only code (i.e. only ford dealers have the computer to read it)
the P0400 is a generic E.G.R. flow restriction code. so yes a dvom (multimeter) and a vacuum pump to diagnose it correctly, also check for loose wires as ford harness connectors are known to fail alot due to crappy phenolic content in the plastic and heat combined they can warp and / or corrode the contacts
