The valves are adjusted as follows: 1) Set timing tab to "0", the ex. valves 4,5,6 should be adjusted. Turn push-rod as you tighten the rocker nut. When you can't turn the push-rod anymore, the valve is adjusted. 2) rotate the engine 180 degrees. The intake valves can then be adjusted in the same manner. The torque specs. are 18 Ft. lbs.

Hi
When doing major work you need to have guidance. Get a manual on your car from the local parts store or from AUTOBOOKSONLINE.COM
torque sequence for head bolts start in the middle of the head barely tighten this and work your way out doing one bolt toward the back and one toward the front on the second pass torque to 30 ft lbs on the second pass torque to 60 ft lbs .

Please replace the current information in the Service Manual with the following information.

The following information has been updated within SI. If you are using a paper version of this Service Manual, please make a reference to this bulletin on the affected page.

The correct torque for the rocker arm bolt is 14 N·m (124 lb in) plus 30 degrees.

Here is a suggested updated torque spec for this engine's rocker arm bolts;
Rocker arms
Step one: Torque to 11 ft lbs then tighten an additional 90 degrees of bolt head rotation. Some guys don't fuss with the torque specs and just get them good and tight. Either way, be careful, as the heads are aluminum. You do not want to over tighten these bolts

Looking for torque setting for 2002 ford ranger with a 3l rocker arms


The bolt torque spec for the 3.0 Vulcan V6 rocker arms is 18-26 foot lbs, I always set it in the middle, so 22 foot lbs will do just fine. If I helped please rate me for fixya.com

I need the engine torque specs for 99 chevy malibu. like the head bolt torque sequence and rocker bolt torque sequence


99 chevy malibu v6 3.1 engine, head bolt torque is-- 98 through 2001 is step1- 37 foot lbs, step 2- rotate an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn). the rocker arm bolts are 168-in. lbs.

I have 4.9L6 need torque specs for cylinder head


for cylinder head the torque is : step 1 55 ft-lb, step 2 65 ft-lb, step 3 85 ft-lb. Rocker arm stud nut or bolt is 17 to 23 ft-lb. and valve cover bolt 72 to 108 in-lb.

the rocker arm torque specs for the la1 gm 3400 sfi v6 is 168in lbs or 14ft lbs and 30degrees past that hope that helps you it came straight from my local dealer!

Hi,

Depends on what engine is there inside.
1. for the 2.0 4 cylinders, 1-3-4-2;
2. for the 3.4 V6, 1-2-3-4-5-6
