SOURCE: 2003 ford explorer battery light on

Are you sure the alternator isnt "over" charging? if not, you may have a "loose" connection somewhere with the cables, or a malfunction in the dash cluster. Also, are you positive the battery is forsure good?

SOURCE: 1994 ford explorer dies while driving

Easy Fix! I know exactly what ur talking about, had the same problem for ******* ever, and its not the fuel pump, trust me!!! and it will cost you absolutely nothing to fix! I don't know what the hell they're called exactly, but on the right side of your engine there's a black box, next to where you put the coolant in, with fuses in it. They look like one inch cubes and will say Ford right on top. One of them is for the fuel pump. Try switching it with one of the others, or just switching all of them around and ur car will fire up, but the one that's not working will cause something else not to work properly, but at least u'll now what the problem is. Than just do what I did: take one with you and go to a junk yard and pull out a bunch, they're the same on many ford vehicles, even the newer ones, like 2000, not just the explorer. Make sure its the same one, pull out a bunch, put em in ur pocket and leave without paying, nobody will notice anyways, but they're tricky to find at a parts store, surprisingly. When ur car is running beatiful again, come back to this post and tell me if I was right! God knows how many ours I spent in that car stranded, waiting for it to fire up. Sometimes it'd be 5 minutes, sometimes an hour, sometimes hours, even days. Never knew when it would or wouldn't. Thought is was the starter too! If it works, tell me!!!

Just changed plugs on 1994 ford explorer and it wont turn over wondering if its the gas ladder or fuel relay switch

Is it not turning over or not firing? If not firing, it could be bad crank sensor, coilpacks, or module
If no spark

If no fuel, bad fuel pump relay, plugged fuel filter, or low fuel pressure.

I have a ford explorer 1996 it turns over but wont start its happened about 4 diffrent times it can last from a day to a week i have gotten it towed to a mechanic twice each time by time it gets there its...

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM IT SPENT A WEEK IN THE SHOP AND THE CAR WOULD START EVERYTIME. I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND READ ALL I COULD ON THIS PROBLEM.
IT WAS THE IGNITION RELAY $7 TO $15 AT ANY PART STORE. IN THE MAIN POWER BOX ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE FIRE WALL (BACK WALL). GO AND BUY THE RELAY FIRST IT'S A LITTLE BLACK CUBE ABOUT 1" X 1" THE IGNITION AND THE FUEL PUMP RELAY ARE THE SAME PART. NOW REMOVE THE RELAY CLOSEST TO THE FIRE WALL THAT IS FOR THE FUEL PUMP. TRY TO START YOUR CAR. IT SHOUD TRY TO FIRE UP WITH THE FUEL THAT IS LEFT IN THE INGINE BUT WONT START. NOW PUT THE RELAY BACK IN AND START IT.
NOW PULL OUT THE SECOND RELAY FROM THE BACK. THAT IS THE IGNITION RELAY.
TRY TO START THE CAR, IT WILL TURN OVER BUT NOT FIRE AT ALL JUST LIKE IT WHEN WE HAVE THE PROBLEM ON THE ROAD. SO IF IT'S THE FUEL RELAY IT WILL TRY TO FIRE A LITTLE IF IT'S THE IGNITION IT JUST TURNS OVER. MY RELAY WAS A ORIGANL FORD SO THE UNDER SIDE OF IT WAS WHITE. PART OF IT WAS BROWN LIKE IT OVER HEATED. I TOOK IT APART TO CHECK TO CONTACT PIONTS INSIDE TO SEE IF THEY WERE BURT AND THEY WERE. CAUSING IT TO NOT MAKE CONTACT EVERYTIME AN NOT LETTING THE CAR START.

The fuel cap will not come off of our 2005 ford explorer sport.

Could be damaged from an attempted gas theft,,,or the cap may have been run over and damaged.
try using another gas cap from a friends car,,simillar cap though.

It wont stay crunk when i let off the gas it dies it wont sit there and idol 1999 ford explorer

I had that problem with my 1993 Explorer, it was a vaccum hose. Coming off of the manifold near the firewall of the truck on the drivers side were two hoses that are supposed to be plugged at the end. one of the plugs came out. Have someone start the truck up and put your finger over the hose end and it will clear right up, If that is the problem.
