I replaced the heat blend actuator because I was not getting any heat. Now, after replacing, all I get is hot air and no cold. The A/C was working fine just before replacing.

Do you have Manual Climate Control System or Dual Automatic Temperature Control System ?
The temperature control switch:
  • is a potentiometer that outputs a variable voltage to the temperature blend door actuator to set the position of the temperature blend door.
  • initiates closing of the heater control valve. When set to full COOL, a lever on the temperature blend door pivot shaft depresses the pintle of the heater control valve vacuum switch. The heater control valve vacuum switch then applies vacuum to the heater control valve, closing off engine coolant flow to the heater core.
  • is serviced only with the climate control assembly.
You may have disturbed something when changing the actuator , the vacuum switch o vacuum hose .

My 2005 GMC C7500 heater is not blowing hot air. The fan is working fine, but it seems we can'[t get it to switch to heat. We replaced the in dahs switch assembly thinking the switch just wasn't...

It is probably the blend doors in the heater case not opening correctly. They are probably vacuum operated doors.

Check the heater core by feeling both heater hoses (the inlet and outlet) when the engine is at normal operating temperature. Both hoses should feel hot, meaning the heater core is circulating coolant correctly. If only one hose feels hot, the heater core may be plugged up, or it may have an air block.

If the heater core checks out good, check the heater case doors for proper movement when you switch from cold to heat. Several vacuum lines branch out from back of the control unit to vacuum canisters on the case, which open or close the various doors. These doors used to be only cable operated, but most are now vacuum operated. There should be a single vacuum hose from the engine, into the firewall, and then to the heater control unit in the dash, where hoses distribute the vacuum signal to various doors or vents as demanded by the switch settings.

Why blower fan won't turn off after i turn off ac/heater

You relay switch is stuck on. Replace it. Second thing to check is the fan switch may need to be replaced. If you turn off your engine and then back on does the heater fan go on even when it is turned off at the switch?

High speed doesn,t work on heater switch.

Pull the heater control panel out of the dash and inspect the blower speed control switch, look for signs of a burnt connector to the switch, it will be discolored looking, if this is the case replace the switch and install a repair connector

Heater will not switch to floor vent

Heater door diaphram not working, either has a vacuum leak or the main control needs to be replaced. The A/C-Heater switches work with both electricity/vacuum at the same time, the switch may be bad, replace it.

I would try to replace the blower motor resistor first,If that doesnt repair your problem you may wanna try replacing the blower speed switch. The resistor is located under the passenger side of the dash mounted in the heater box.
