Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

Distressed in Illinois

I am have 2005 Nissan Altima. When I turned my air conditioner on it was blowing warm air. Last year it did the same thing. I had freeon and it was fine. This year it's the same thing. I'm wondering do I have a leak. Do you think this should be covered under warranty?

I don't think I should have that kind of problem so soon.

Thank you for your assistance

2005 nissan altima , when turning the air on high there is a crackiling noise comfrom the dash board , any idea on what this is ? and how to get rid of it ?

Does it come from the dashboard or more from the passenger side glove box area? Does the noise happen when the interior is very warm and the fan is then turned on? If so, this can be normal as the cooler air will cause flexing of a hot dash board resulting in crackling

Sounds like your thermostat may be stuck closed. When the car is at operating temperature, does warm air come out of the vents inside? If it's blowing cold air, then change your thermostat.

2005 altima blowing hot air

could be your switch, or you have a freon leak and there is no freon in the system. open hood and watch the ac pump and have them turn on and off the ac. if in engages then it is probably freon. if it doesn't check ac fuses.

My 2005 Nissan Altima will not blow warm air unless I am driving. When I start the car to let it warm up on cold mornings the air is still cool after 5 or more minutes.

Thermostat could be stuck in open position. Check your T-stat gage on your dash if it doesn't go to middle or normal then your T-stat is stuck open, and needs to be replaced.

the problem is at the system that runs the ac compressor: it can be the belt that is slipping or the system that couples the compressor(it's like a clutch, but with an electromagnet on it) which maybe doesn't engage well the compressor

Nissan Altima no cool air blowing or hot air blowing

It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

Airconditioner suddenly stopped blowing cold air while I was driving--blows warm air now

you can get a recharge kit at Auto Zone, the car has to be runnung to fill it. . This is the first thing I would do, to see if it's out of freeon first.

Ask the Auto zone man to come out side and help you refill it. They will help if you ask.
