SOURCE: clutch pedal to floor

the most common cause of this is the slave cylinder and not the master, but it is my experience that they should be repalced as a pair.

I have Peugeot expert 2014 20hdi and the clutch pedal is getting harder to change the gears. please can you find the solution for the clutch soft ?

When the pedal gets hard to push it means the clutch disk is worn out (the worn disk changes the mechanical advantage), this means of course you need the clutch replaced.

Clutch troubleshooting

Is the clutch hydraulic or cable? in 80's peugeot's they had both depending on engine, if its hydraulic it could be failed seals or a leak, if its a cable it could have snapped, get somebody with a little mechanical knowledge to have a look.

Why dose the clutch pedal stick down on my peugeot ?

The linkage between the pedal and the clutch throwout bearing needs attention - the return spring appears to not have been reinstalled correctly, or has broken.

1999 F-250 SD w/ manual tranny truck will not start when engaging clutch, but will when i park on hill, start to roll and pop clutch

There is a switch on the top of the cluch pedal basicly its a saftey switch so you can't start the vehicle unless the clutch is pushed in it runs across the ignition switch . It is adjustable and thats all it may need its a plunger type switch . You can also test it by disconnection the connector to the switch and pushing it in you should have current flow through it when depressed and none when not depessed . Use a mulity meter or a test light and its not a vary expensive switch even if its bad

Hi i have a peugeot 406 2.0 hdi 1999, when i get in the car the clutch pedal is on the floor and i have to pump the pedal for a couple of minutes, then it is ok to drive. any ideas what is wrong with it?

The clutch acting system is hydraulical, (clutch hydraulic system).
Your clutch pedal master cylinder is weak, and needs to be replaced or repaired by gasket kit replacement. Also the clutch slave cylinder can be used, and needs to be repaired (by gasket kit replacement), or replaced. The clutch system must be bled after carrying out work on the hydraulic clutch mechanism.

Peugeot 106 1.5D. the clutch was slipping so new clutch fitted 2 weeks ago. It was still slipping so that garage replaced the clutch again. Guess what? It is still slipping. Any idea what is going on?

Yes clutch pedal should start to drive about 1inch off the floor and when driving keep your foot away from the pedal,/ also when new clutch is fitted did they fit a complete clutch assy /and did they surface grind the flywheel as if it was badly worn on the 1st one then the new one wouldent last very long.
as when the clutch starts to drive 1" from the floor clutch is good /when it engages right out its buggered and slips so ask about the f/wheel
