Hello Cindy Kuba, myname is Andy and the best way to take that piece off is by adding WD40 INTO IT a reasonable amount and let it penetrate then grace with a grill a reasonable size and drill a hole into it then get a bolt remover (you can get it in the closest autoparts) again is called bolt extractor the same size the drill bit was and insert it into the hole you drill and action it counter clock wise

Get a book to the car from AutoZone, it should tell you where it is. If you cant find it, it may be one of those cars that has to have the engine dropped. Those are a pain, because you cant do it yourself. Good luck.

I am not a mechanic and have had no problems with my 2005 Ion-2 but at msn/autos I see that these can exhibit a starting problem because of the ignition switch which they recommend replacing. The part is around $40 & the labor is 1 hr.

Sounds like a fuel issue to me. Maybe the fuel is sloshing to the right of the tank and causing air to be drawn into the fuel line. Just a guess but something to think about.
