Go to the wreckers and get all the parts out of a manual cab the same as yours . You will need a clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder as well as the piping from one to the other ( get new master/ slave cylinder as it will reduce the possibility of hydraulic problems . If it is going to be a cable clutch then get everything associated with a cable including the correct throw out lever in the bell housing.

SOURCE: neutral safety switch....I think

The switch is located at the top of the clutch pedal assembly, above your feet. Its a little cramped, but its a simple dc two wire switch, you should be able to check it with a meter for power and to see if the switch does indeed need replacement. If thats the problem, when you see the new switch, you'll know it goes in, very easy. good luck

SOURCE: 95 saturn sl 2 5 speed manual transmission, clutch

This vehicle has a pair of shift cables which attatches to the shifter and runs to the transmission shift housing. To diagnose, removal of the center console is in order so you can inspect and verify the shifter/cable connections and movement, then verify the cables move the linkages properly at the transmission . These cables are a fairly common failed part and sold as the set, these are a dealer item and no aftermarket cables are available .

Trans speed sensor needs to be reset. Turn key switch on, turn clutch disconnect switch off and press LEFT brake pedal 3 times within 5 seconds, and turn key switch off. Do this procedure 3 times, and trans controller will reset. Hope that helps.

Have a 5 speed trans get a code for nuetral safety switch where is switch located

Should only be on the clutch for a manual trans.
There would be a reverse lamp switch on the trans.

Neutral safety switch location

If you have a 5-speed manual transmission, you're probably looking for the clutch safety switch, which is located on the clutch pedal under the dash near the firewall, rather than the neutral safety switch, which is on the left side of automatic transmissions. Out of curiosity, why do you believe that it needs to be serviced?

So, i have a Tracker that has been changed, by the previous owner, from factory auto trans to a 5 speed. It has an issue with the engine (bogs) and the gauges (go haywire), when you run/ shift into gear....

Hi, the wiring is certainly different as the automatic has shift and TCC solenoids that the manual does not have. The safety interlock is also different--on the clutch pedal for manual versus the trans range sensor on the auto. Also, the backup light switch is separate on the manual versus integrated to the range switch on the auto. The speed sensor may be different or the same, I'm not sure. Now, the real difference in the drivability is that the auto trans is controlled by the PCM, and the data is fed back to the PCM for proper engine operation. If the previous owner didn't change the computer, then the algorithms in the computer are not optimized for a maunal transmission. I'm not sure that is the reason for your problems. Can you find out if the PCM in the car is the original versus a replacement for a manual transmission?

How to to install a manual trans in an automatic 92 corolla

Sometimes the pinion gear is a different size for the automatic and smaller for the manual, make sure you get this right or it will chatter your teeth out. You also need to find a car like yours with a manual trans so you can pull all these parts out, shifter, clutch pedal, a hydraulic master and slave, your speedo probably won't work, or fit, maybe. Your propeller shaft might not be the same length, but you can get that from the donor car. I would find another auto to put in there, it would be easier. Hope this helps.

Nissan starter

Try replaceing the starter realy but if itsa 5 speed try bypassing the clutch safety switch with a paper clip and you might see that it will start, the clutch switch is on the clutch pedal, if it's automatic it's on the brake switch.

I am looking at a 1992 Nissan Maxima to replace the vehicle I have and my husbands uncle has it. He said that it runs great but when he put it in gear it wouldn't go. Then he shut it off for a few minutes,...

No trans lock. The clutch could be bad or the clutch master or slave cylinders. Check the fluid level in the clutch system resivoir. How does the clutch pedal feel? Is it firm and returning normally?
