Wrangler. Cardone says there is not one?
why not say why you think its bad, or why you want one,?????
a science fair experiment?

great question. are you in USA< locations matter , buying parts!!!
but you failed to say what engine? 4L or 2.5L (neither have a mAF)

the both engines, I have both i 2 cars.
use MAP sensors. The speed density system.
neither use the Air density system.

let me guess, car runs crappy and guy on bar stool said, bad maf.
rigth. (just joking, it was a web bunny guy who said it)

better is to post the symtoms
and ask for wild guessing
or ask for the tests, (me)

and never pick the most expensive part on top change , guessing.
try a tuneup first.

How do i replace the 1997 Nissan Maxima MAF? Is this a DIY job?

yes you can do it by your self. just remove the upper section of air box by unclicking the tabs that hold it to the lower section, where your air filter goes. unplug the MAF connector and unscrew the clamp on the air intake boot (the harmonica looking thing) and pull the whole thing from the MAF. the harmonica looking thing will stay on engine intake and the MAF will be attached to upper air box. unscrew 4 bolts tha attach the MAF to the upper section of air box and remove the MAF. reverse instalation procedure.

Where is the Mass Air Flow Sensor located in the vehicle?

MAF sensor is in the intake air duct between the air filter and the throttle body mounted on the intake manifold. MAF sensors are mounted directly to the throttle body.

What do p0171 code mean

Fuel system - Bank 1 lean.

This is usually due to a dirty MAF sensor heated wires. Remove MAF Sensor and spray the tiny heated wires with carb cleaner or MAF sesnor cleaner. ALso, look for air leaks in the air intake system that is allowing unmtered air to bypass the MAF sensor.
Your oxygen sensor is eprting that not enough fuel is going through the injectors. Look for splits in the convolutes of the big air intake hose. Also, the PCV valve could be bad
My guses is there is an air leak.

Location of mass air flow sensor on a 2002 pontiac firebird

It should be along the air intake. A block box about 1 1/2" x 2 1/2" held on by 4 ? screws. Easy to replace, but kind of pricey. They make a product for cleaning them. Try that first. Do not touch the wire resistor that goes into the intake. It's delicate.

REPLACING mass air flow sensor

The mass flow sensor on the 1999 intrigue is along the intake tube right after the air filter intake housing. Loosen the two clamps that hold the MAF sensor between the Air filter box cover and air intake tube, disconnect the wire leads at the MAF sensor connection and remove the MAF. Note it's uncommon for the MAF sensor to go bad and 95% of the time, cleaning it with MAF sensor with MAF cleaner will fix any problem it may of had to trigger the DTC codes.
Start with trying to clean it first just by following the instruction on the MAF cleaner. This should save you time and money to get your Intrigue running 100% again soon.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.
