Why is my volvo v 40 2001 wagon engine idling too-high in park upto 4000 rpm

sounds like you have a vacuum leak that is causing the high rpm. it could be an intake gasket, vacuum hose or a problem with the egr system.

My 2008 E-350 has a very high clicking sound on engine idle

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
You may want to check on the fan belt if it's worn out. It may be hitting something that's why it has a clicking sound. If that's the case, the belt should be replaced to resolve the problem.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Check for a vacuum leak. The vacuum cannister under the evap. case will crack and cause a leak. I just install a new vacuum cannister, check valve and hose going to inside of van.
