How to reset BCM MODULE

2006 dodge grand caravan. The right side (passenger) turn signals blink, but no sound or lights from the dash. I've also noticed the passenger air bag light on the dash is going on a lot lately. These have just started. Could this have anything to do with the side doors which do not work from the key fob for the rear wiper light on the dash which doesn't light? These were the things that didn't work when the van was purchased. Thank you in advance for your response!

It's hard to say exactly what it could be since the question is quite confusing. I can say that any electrical problem that involves a few different lights can stem from a simple burned out bulb. These things are all connected in some way and can cause all types of other things to become effected by a simple burned out light bulb.

Fist thing you always need to do with any electrical problem is to check your fuses! Check every fuse in the car to make sure it's not simply a burned fuse then go from there! Fuses are cheap and easily replaced compared to what a shop will charge you for this same solution will be quite embarrassing. $70 per hour or more to change your fuse is not something anyone would want to be paying. I've solved more problems by checking fuses first. It's the most overlooked repair starting point there ever could be.

Stereo quits, interior lights quit and I cant lock with fob - is this to do with the BCM

The dashboard module can also cause this, but it is a good possibility that the bcm is bad. Check for water intrusion around the bcm and under the passenger side of the dash. The drain tube for the a/c can get clogged with debris and cause the water runoff to come back into vehicle and create many problems.

Where is the BCM on 2002 Dodge Caravan

The Body Control Module (BCM) is located in the passenger compartment, attached to the bulkhead underneath the left side of the instrument panel. But, have you checked for a bad brake switch first?

2001 Dodge Grand Caravan intermittent turn signal problem, particularly when cold. sometimes don't work at all, other times try to use right signal and left comes on.

The most likely cause is the multifunction switch located on the steering colomn. Also involved in the turn signal operation is the BCM (body control module) and the IPC (intelligent power module). For the problem you are describing I would go with the multifunction switch as the most likely culprit.

Hello Durant.
Your rear signal lamps are turned on by the body control module (BCM).
You could have some broken wires from the BCM to the rear signals or the BCM isn't providing power to them. The BCM must be getting a signal input because the front ones are functional.
If you want to trace the wires here are the colors you are looking for.
Left rear wire is white/dark green.
Right rear wire is white/brown.
You may need to have your BCM scanned to verify.
If you would like more information to solve this yourself ask me.

1999 caravan under dash relay clicking

You may want to try pulling connections off BCM (body control module) and cleaning them with contact spray cleaner or similar & re-installing. Sometimes you'll get lucky & this will cure it, without replacing BCM.70846a5.gif

Fuse box,, relays ?

Disconnect the battery for a minute or two and reconnect it. Sometimes the BCM (body control module) locks up.
