SOURCE: Hello i have a 91

dear shame,
try replacing the distributor cap first, it is easier rather than replacing the trans, i dont really think that your problem has something to do with your trans. good luck!

Where is the grank sersor located

It is the crankshaft position sensor (CKP sensor for short) not the "grank" "sersor" And the location varies with make, model and engine type and size, none of the info has been provided by you. Please use spell check or take a spelling course at a local adult night school.

Installed rebuilt short block and will crank but not start and backfires out intake have had several people check timing and seems good new grank and cam sensors also

timing is off 180 degrees, find number 1 piston, find top dead center, pull off distributor cap and see if it lines up with number 1 plug,if its off, pull distributor and place back in correct position
