I have a 2007 subaru tribeca my brake lights work on the sides but do not work on the hatch put new bulbs in but they won't even come on I checked the fuse is not burned out

There's a harness that runs from the rear body into the hatch, through a rubber tube. These wires break with age and movement.

Remove the hatch brake light and verify that the unit is getting +12v when the brake pedal is pressed. If so, connect +12v + Ground to the brake light directly, and see if it works. If not, you have a ground issue (usually corrosion) the brake light. Look for the ground connection in the hatch harness.

Repairing the hatch harness is doable, and easier than replacing the whole harness.

Pt cruiser centre brake light bulbs replaced . still doesn't work l and r brake lights work????

Check the harness in between the rear hatch door and the body of the car. That area flexes a lot when the rear hatch is opened and closed which can cause the wires to break.

Accessing the rear hatch brake light on a 1999 Ford Expedition

There should be 2 screws holding the lenses on for the hatch light, remove those and cover comes off. The plate lights, access them under the rear bumper, they twist and pull out, then just pull the bulb out the connector. The running board light, under board, which will take the light assembly out, or a small flat head screwdriver, pop the lens off the top of board.

The brake light on the trunk of my car stays on all the time when the lights are turned on and the brake lights won't come on unless the key is turned in the ignition, what could the problem be?

brake lights only work with ignition on ,and the one in the back window of the hatch has a problem where the wires come out of the car body into hatch.their is a big thick rubber shroud with the wires in and i think they may have shorted out in here

2004 Honda Odyssey EX brake light replacement. How do you remove

open the rear hatch. Next to the brake light assembly, between it and the hatch there are two flap doors in the brake light trim. Take a small flat blade screwdriver and open these doors. The hinge side of the flap is nearest the hatch opening. When opened, the flaps will reveal two screws. Remove these. Then wrap a flat blade screwdriver with some tape (protects the paint) and put the blade at the front outside corner of the brake light assembly. Pry gently rearward and a plastic spear point clip will release. With the assembly off, you can see how to twist out the bulb sockets and replace the bulbs. to replace, put the spear point clip in first, replace the screws, and close the flaps in the trim.

Both bottom brake lights don't work

I believe the brake light on the hatch works off a different fuse then the taillight brakes. Double check to see if there is more then one fuse for brake lights. By pulling the fuse you changed and leaving it out, see if the hatch light comes on or not; this may answer at least one question if it is one of the fuses. If your running lights in those bulbs are coming on; you probably have a good ground, if not it may be a loose ground wire.
