The noise is quite loud and gets louder as you rev the engine up, then stops completely when you switch off the ac.

You need not bother yourself about this. When the ac picks there will definately be a sound of that sort. so it depends on how attentive you are about the sound. Some people do not even know.

Good.

Noisy air conditioning pump

Hi guys,
I have a 2.0 diesel X type and when the AC is switched on and the centre of the pulley on the compressor goes around it sounds like there is a very noisy rattle from the engine. It is OK when AC is not on. any ideas, and can this be fixed without replacing the compressor.

High frequency hum comeing from fuel tank- pump seems to be working ok. What is probable cause?

I seen this problem when I worked at Ford Dealerships. The noise is coming from the pump it's self. Some of the older Fords had a problem with noisy fuel pumps. Not that the pump is actually bad. Just making the noise. Replacing it is the only way of getting rid of the noise.

2004 power steering pump whinning. Changed pump and noise is still present

Ford is notorious for having very noisy pumps. Yes even the replacement pumps. Having some noise in a ford is unfortunately normal.. but I would assume you may have dirty fluid still in the line.. Get the system flushed then see if it goes away. Good luck

P.S dirty or old power steering fluid can cause poor pressure in the power steering system hense the reason to flush the system

Mazda 6 2005 whining from fuel pump when start car only does it in fall and winter.if i turn car off and start it again it goes away?? would a fuel stabilizer or cleaner help?

this noise is caused by the shaft bearings of the gear rotor in the fuel pump being worn, no chemical will correct this problem, most likely the fuel pump will work for years to come, if it gets noisy all the time then t is time to replace it.

Nissan xterra 2003 car noisy problem

If it's the water pump there should be water leaking, if it's the steering pump the noise  would change as you turn the steering wheel left to right. If it's constant, it could be just old belt and bad idler and tension pully. Start buy praying a little water to the belt while the engine is running and if the noise goes away, the belt is in time to be chaged. If the noise is still there, then most likly it's the ilder bering or tension bearing. Good luck

Air pump noise

air pump noise is common and in most cases it will last a very long time after it gets noisy. U can't buy parts for the air pump for this car, it is either a usd one or a rebuilt one, try A1Cardone, I am sure if they have your pump it is far less than $1000.00

Roaring noise when car idleing

Quite possibly the air conditioning compressor clutch bearing. I've seen a couple of these go bad now. Have the belt removed and see if the noise goes away.

Air conditioner makes noise which increases as you rev the engine and slows as you take foot off the gas.also, the front vents (by the windshield) also noisy when you switch to them, opposed to having the...

YOU SEEM TO HAVE A LOOSE OR BAD AC COMPRESSOR DRIVE BELT. WHEN YOU SWITCH THE TO THE VENTS CLOSE TO THE WINDSHIELD IT TURN THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH ON, IT ACTIVATES THE DEFROST. TRY POURING SOME WATER ON THE AC BELT AND SEE IF NOISE GOES AWAY. THE BELT MAY NEED ADJUSTMENT OR MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. GOOD LUCK
