Clunking front hubs

While turning the front end makes a clunking sound. also it has begun making this sound at slow speed going straight. If I am in 4wheel drive and shift out of 4 to 2 it will jump. If I stop and shift out of 4 wheel drive no noticable jolt or noise.

Usually the noise in the front end is the u-joints or cv joints out towards the tires.

How many types of bearings are in the front end?

Clunking going slow sounds like u joints bad in the driveshaft(s). Engine has idler pulley and air conditioning clutch bearings, alternator and power steering pumps have bearings, bearing in clutch on fan can go bad making noises at slower speed. Noises only while driving are drive train related. Try another mechanic's diagnosis.

Front end noise/clunk when coming to a stop and sometimes while turning left

Problems with cv joints can cause this noise when turning, stopping. Eventually the joint just gives way and you go no where!

F-150 Front end grinding

if its coming from your front tire more than likely it your front wheel bearing.

jack up the front end and wiggle the tire at the top and bottom. if it wiggles around in the hub, (Not the suspension) your wheel bearing is worn out. you will also probably notice your tire is leaning in or out not straight.

sounds like another bad hub brg, jack up front end and check for play in wheels from top to bottom wiggle for movement. A loose wheel brg will set a front speed sensor code.

When turning steering wheel - either way, clunking sound.

Sounds like you have a bad CV joint, this will make a clunking or clicking noise like you described only when turning, and varies with vehicle speed.

Have it repaired before it breaks and leaves you stranded, or damages anything else.
