Question about Mazda Cars & Trucks
Hi I have a Mazda Etude 2002 160ie. The brake pedal travels to far before the car starts to brake I have changed the master cylinder pistons twice and bleeded the brakes properly. Any help would be of much help thanks

1st off you would give everything a good visual examination. Look for
loose alternator belt. Also look for wires that could have
become disconnected or cut that leads to the alternator.
Then you would hook up a volt meter to the battery cables and check the voltage.
After this you would start the engine and recheck the voltage. The voltage on a charged battery should read around 12.5 volts. While the engine is running turn on a few accesories and speed up the idle a little the voltage should read around 14.5 volts.
If the voltage does not increase suspect either a faulty alternator or regulator.

Your camshaft and crankshaft pulleys have to be properly aligned upon installation of the timing belt. The cogs on the belt, should fit precisely with the teeth of the pulleys. Your # 1 engine cylinder should be moved to "Top Dead Center" before installing the belt. This means no compression once the top of the piston cylinder reaches the top of the chamber.

you have to remove the pipes that go out of the master cylinder and purge the air later you connect the pipes and it purges the air in every auxiliary cylinder and the pedal will begin to have pressure
