Try squirting a little oil into each cylinder. This might help raise the compression until the engine wears in.

Isuzu seem to have complicated things by changing engines, firing orders and even direction of rotation! As you can see, they've numbered the cylinders the other way than the 3.2L.

The Firing sequence for the 3.1 (traditional distributor) 6 cylinder is as follows -


If you take the distributor cap off, there should be a "No.1" formed on the inside. Stick a lead on this before you put the cap back on and go from there.
As leads are different lengths, you may have to swap a few to find the best fit.

I think 2 of them will look out of place - but that's the way it's designed. Just make use of clips for holding them neatly.

Have you checked to see if your distributor is aligned properly? I just had to change out a distributor on a 1997 GMC 3/4 ton that has the V8 Vortec in it as well and you need to pay attention to the (2) numbers around the mating surface / rim of the distributor. You should see a number 8 and a number 6. You need to find TDC on your number 1 cyl. You can either slowly crank the motor over or turn the motor over with a ratchet and socket on the bolt securing the main pully to the crank while another person places their finger over the spark plug hole and when it just starts to Stop pushing air out past your finger then stop. Is the rotor aligned with the number what ever size engine you have in your truck (i.e. 6 or 8)? If not then your timing is off. You will need to remove the distributor and rotor, then install your rotor (before re-installing the distributor) and align the rotor pointer with either the number 8 or 6 stamped on the lip of the distributor where the cap sits down and creates the seal. I have found that they run both numbers on the distributor because they use the same distributor in both the V6 and V8 Vortec motors or a least the plastic base of the distributor. There will be (2) numbers here and sometimes hard to see. Align the pointer with what size engine you have and lower the distributor down into the hole. If the end of the shaft starts to turn the rotor as it aligns with the oil pump causing the pointer to no longer be pointed at the number that indicates which engine this is being installed in then you need to remove the distributor and look down into the hole where the distributor goes in and you'll see the end of the oil pump shaft with a slot (perfect for a big flat head screwdriver) staring back up at you. You'll need to insert a long shanked large flat head screwdriver down into the hole and turn the slotted oil pump shaft until you can successfully lower the distrubutor into place and not lose your mark. I also found that you'll need to have to pointer of the rotor a bit retarted from where it is suppose to be. This is because the distributor shaft gear is swirled and will cause the rotor to turn as it finds its mark, aligns and lowers down into a seated position. When it is seated and the rotor has stopped turning it should be pointing at the indicated cylinder Stamp in the lip that is your size motor (V6 or V8). Now it should be on time. The computer will take care of advancing and retarding.

If not the timing, then I would also consider that you may have a bad crank shaft sensor. These are merley suggestions because there is no more to go on than what you've submitted.

Engine turns over but wont start , think we have eletrical fault to fuel pump.

I can't look up wiring diagram w/o year--make--model? Usually if it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs, where applicable. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse.

My automotive database is a US database, it won't have vehicles sold only in other countries.

My Isuzu rodeo will not start,,tries to turn over , but wont..gets fire, get gas..just will not start.

If the spark to all plugs is healthy and that spark coincides with the introduction of the fuel then it should start. Is it catching at all when being turned over
Have you had the timing checked?
Is the fuel pressure good?
I would....personally speaking, perform a compression check and, if that proved okay, I would have an OBD scan to check for error s then go from there

check the ignition timing is set at no1 piston tdc compression stroke as you may be 180 degrees out in the firing order

1993 Isuzu rodeo won't start after installing another engine. Everything is good except no spark from the coils. They were workitng fine before removing the old engine. All wires checked ok, the coils too....

i have the same problem but i did not replace the engine. my 1993 isuzu rodeo 3.2 liter 2wd is doing the SAME THING. it all started when i bought the car and noticed at night the back door dome light was staying on even with the door shut. i used a bolt to temp. fix it until i could get a switch. after a few weeks i was driving and my car just died. i got a jump start and took it to my garage and charged the batery on a low charge. the next day it started and i drove it just out of town and it just quit. i took the batter home, charged it, and it would start. i noticed the positive cable was extremely coroded. i replaced the cable and after that it wouldnt start at all. it would just turn over and not get a spark. it would crank and not start. i check the fuel pump and filter and it was clicking. i took my altanator out and had it tested and it failed. i tested the spark plugs and NO SPARK. then i replaced the 3 solinoids, and the panel the solinoids sit on with new parts from auto zone. im lost too.

I just got my motor rebuild for a 1997 isuzu rodeo, unfortnately i seem to be having a electrial problem, i'm not getting a spark out of one of the spark plugs, and i have changed all of them. Sometimes it...

I would suggest you check your coils or your ignition control module. usually parts stores can check theses. anything beyond that i would check and make sure all your wires are plugged in tight and your ground on the block and body is secure and not corroded.

1993 Riviera cranks, but no spark!

It sounds like you guys have tuned a few wrenches in your time so I'm not sure I'll be of much help. However I can offer a few general suggestions. Please don't be insulted if some of my suggestions seem way too obvious. I'm putting them down for other less experienced mechanics that may be reading this post.

1. Remove the distributor cap and crank the car. If the rotor turned you're ok. If it doesn't turn then that's you're problem and you will probably need to change a timing belt/chain.
2. Check the spark from the ignition coil by pulling the coil wire from the center of the distributor. Use an alligator clip to attach a short wire to the coil wire contact. Bare the other end of this short wire and set it up so it's sitting very close to the engine block. Turn off the lights and try to start the car. You should see a spark jump from this wire to the block. If you don't see a spark it's likely your ignition module or ignition coil is bad.
3. If you have a spark maybe it's not getting to the plugs. You may need to replace the distributor cap and rotor. You can test if the plugs are sparking by pulling one, re-attaching the spark plug wire and seeing if you get a spark when you try to start the engine in the dark. Please note, the metal threads of the spark plug need to be shorted to the engine block to complete the circuit during this test.

C2500 250 engine won't start during cold weather

i had the same problem on my truck. go to a autopart store and they will give what is called a block warmer it's basicly a peice that you install on the block of your engine and then at night plug it in to the 110 socket of you garage or out door plug, starts right up in the cold morning just don't forget to un plug it i did lol....... hope this could help you.

Replacing 94 Rodeo Engine--

Could be a failed crimp on a solder-less connector. Take it in to a high end radio installer and explain it to them like you did here. If your alarm is still functioning normally then its just a small wire off the LED leads that's not completing a circuit.
