Question about 2004 Audi A4 1.8
I was driving my 04 A4 and it died on me started smoking but the gauge did not show it was overheating prior. There is oil splattered over the engine bay. and it will not start now. Any suggestions on where to look, start etc. I'm hoping at most its just a blown head gasket, it tries to start but the cam doesn't move. Haven't had a chance to open it up yet was just looking for ideas this is my first Audi. Thank you for any feed back.

I hope that you had the proper weight oil installed, at your oil change. If your oil is up to the proper level, and it's rattling ,this is VERY bad. White smoke usually means steam in the exhaust, and that means a blown head gasket. Check your coolant level. I wouldn't drive it anymore......until someone knowledgeable can diagnose it!!!!!
