Press the setup button to access the system, then press and release the reset button, then press and hold the reset button for two seconds. The "if new oil" message will display. Press reset again until 100% is displayed. Your oil reminder is now reset. Good luck.
Because the steps to resetting the "Change Oil" nag message are different between model years, and even between models in the same year... I will try and do my best to answer your question. If you have the message center do the following: Click on the setup button until you get to system check. Click on reset and when it asks you to press/hold reset for the oil % just do so. Then it'll ask you to hold the reset button again. Then it will proceed with a system check. If this does not work for you You can cancel the signal with an OBD reader tool. You can buy one or go to Autozone and borrow it and reset the oil light in there parking lot. Well i hope this helps you.
To reset CHANGE OIL SOON/OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message on the Message Center, press the SET UP control to access the System Check mode. Press and release the RESET button to display “OIL LIFE % HOLD RESET NEW” is displayed. Press and hold the RESET button for 2 seconds until “IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET” is displayed. Press and hold RESET button until “OIL LIFE SET TO 100%” is displayed.
Ford Five Hundred, Freestyle, Mercury Montego 2005-06 Tap the ODO/TRIP button to toggle the display between the odometer and trip odometer. Tap on the ODOiTRIP button again to toggle the display between the trip odometer and OIL LIFE % display. Press and hold the ODO/IRIP button for 2 seconds or more to display OIL LIFE 100%. Your oil life in now reset.
Good luck and print this and keep it in the glove box. Keep me posted if you have any other questions
Check your fuses under hood and on dash. Some of these use two different fuses for rt. & lt. Look in you owners manual for the correct fuses to check. If it is a fuse problem, you will have to find out why the fuse was blown. Good luck
