You enter the permanent code on the plastic card in the owner manual packet. Then hit 1, enter your 5 digit personal code, hit 1. owner manual should have directions too.

Installed new battery in my 2005 explorer; now warning lights, cabin lights, and door locks are acting irratically.

how long was the battery out of the vehicle? some vehicles require reprogramming if the battery power is off the vehicle for a period of time. Might want to check with a parts man at your dealership. They sometimes give you free information. they know their fords because they sometimes they sell a lot of the same parts.

I have a 96 Explorer, number buttons on the outside of the driver side door were messed with now the door will not open from the inside. Can this be fixed??

try reprogramming it with your own personal code. The directions are in your owner manual. The permanent code is on a plstic credit type card in your owner manual packet.

If no manual, go to, pro center, tech info, owner manul.

The factory keypad code is the bold numbers listed on the side of the keypad module, should be located under the drivers side dash on the left, look for the numbers that are in bold type. Hope this helps, let me know

I tried to reprogram the door code and its not working

On my 02 explorer you enter the factory code, then you enter your 5 digit code. Wait 5 seconds or press 7/8 9/0 simultaneously. If you don't have the factory code you can go to your Ford dealer and he can look it up for you. Your personal code don not replace teh factory code, either will unlock the door.

For the 2008 Ford Explorer ONLY (SUV). Look under the steering wheel. There is a black fuse box near emergency brake pedal. You will need a flashlight and a dental mirror (very tight space. Look between the lower lid of the box on the slim space to the left side. Take your time, you will see a bar code and 5 above it...That's it! I found mine that way. If you are laying on your back looking up, it's the gap above your right shoulder.GOOD LUCK!

The older Ford Explorers have the KE module behind the trim panel, drivers side, rear. Open the little access panel to get to the jack. Look (with a flashlight) forward behind the panel and you will see a small black plastic box (keyless entry module), I think mine was about (8"X6"), there is a sticker on it that has the original factory code. YOu might be abel to see it but will probably need ot remove a couplr of phillips screws and plastic retainer clips to pull he lanel out a bit.No matter what the code is changed to, that default will always work. I had to partially remove the whole panel in order to read mine, just a few screws though.
I found reprogramming instructiions by searching Google, that way you can have your own code and the default still works as a back up.
