Question about Pontiac Grand Prix

When I turn my wipers off instead of them staying in down position they stay staight up. I replaced the wiper motor and the wiper switch located on the steering wheel, but I still have the same problem with the blades going down when switch off.so is it possible to have a relay switch causing the problem?

It is either the relay or the arms that are causing this problem. You will need to take the faring off and see what it looks like under there

Since it is virtually impossible to mess up the R&R of a wiper motor and the fact that you have already replaced the switch it could be that the relay located in the panel under the hood has gone bad. I think this is highly unlikely though and would be more inclined to look for a bent crossarm that goes from one wiper to the other and connects to the motor.

Where is wipers control module located on 1995 gran marquis

This is usually a contact inside the wiper motor. Some are accessible and some require replacing the wiper motor. The inside of the wiper motor jumps into a derailer which breaks the electric contact that keeps the motor turning. Once the motor cycles, it parks in the down position.

The insides of the wiper motor are suppose to coast without power into the Park position.

I have 06 cts and my windshield wipers stay up. They won't park down. They stop up and stay there

sounds like you have a problem with the parking pawl/position on the wiper motor.some of these can be repaired by a part from the dealer as its a dealer only part and sometimes the wiper motor needs replacing.if its a motor problem you can pick up one at the wreckers instead of buying a new one.

Wipes staying in upright position

GM has a service bulletin on this. You need to replace the crank arm on the motor and the bracket the arm catches to make the arm go down when they park instead of up.

Wipers

You have two problems. The first is the wipers turn off and stay in the upright position and do not close. The motor is fine. There is a steal 'close' tab that has been bent out of position. You just need to push the steal tab back into position. You can use a chisel or screwdriver to pound it back into the 90 degree position.

The windsheild washer motor probably needs to be replaced
