If your sure you have all the screws out, grab the pocket on the door panel towards the left side, and pull towards you swiftly, the clips should release. Don't tear the vapor barrier. I use a razor blade and cut the adhesive between the vapor barrier and the door, being careful not to cut through the plastic barrier.

SOURCE: The driver's door lock on my 2004 Honda Odyssey

Has Honda had a look at it? Beside the engine control module
I believe there is a body control module with relays, etc for
functions like door locks, windows, wipers, so it can get
complicated. Best bet is let Honda deal with it.

SOURCE: 2003 Honda pilot driver's door actuator replacement

Below are the instructions. They are pretty detailed almost to the point of being confusing so I would read over them a couple of times before trying to do it. I can tell you from experience that you need to be careful when moving the rods out of your way to be careful not to bend them. Hope this helps.....

With the new handle not installed, you should be able to grasp the rod with needle nose pliers and pull the rod forward and slide it into the new handle plastic clip and then install the handle assembly

Car doors wont lock with key the lock motor in back door wont turn off until you unlock the drivers door with the key

Hi,

Part of your post "car doors wont lock with key" initially seems to be a mechanical problem. You could try opening the door panel, perform cleaning to remove dirt, accumulated dust and possibly rust and spray with general purpose lubricant such as WD40.

Your other concern "lock motor in back door wont turn off until you unlock the drivers door with the key" sounds like an electrical problem but may be interrelated to the locking problem of above. Pls try the cleaning as above described and additionally check if there are any switches that may likewise be affected by any dirt/rust.

For a possibly more detailed solution, perhaps you could post back the year and exact model of your Ford vehicle.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

My drivers door is not locking with the central locking it willlock with the key

Most likely the actuator has died. It is part of the latch in the door. If you have an older 90's model. The actuator is separate from the latch. Still in the door though.

I have 2000 Range Rover the doors keep locking and unlocking randomly, can somebody help me please? Thank you.

Most likely a failing or about to fail lock actuator. Hopefully on the drivers door but probably the front passenger. There are no servicable parts of the actuator so the entire assembly must be replaced. Access to the inner door outstation and actuator is simple for someone with some experience with interior panels. For a first timer its not impossible and is do-able if you are patient. Many hidden clips and fasteners can make it a frustrating job. In the interim if you cant get it into the shop or work on it right away you can disconnect this lock actuator which will stop the random gremlin from raising and lowering the locks. The lock must be engaged then from inside the vehicle manually if any other than the drivers door, the only one locked and unlocked by mechanical means with the key. Hope this helps. good luck.

How do I remove a lock actuator on the side passenger door

you have to remove the inner door panel, once inside you will see a plastic sheet ,, just peel that up and out of the way,, Look through the holes in the metal inner door, you will see the assembly your talking about,, just be careful with the little plastic clips that connects the locking rods to the unit, they break pretty easily, once you have those of, you can take the part off and replace it

The key will lock all of doors except the driver

The most likely cause is a faulty lock actuator assembly ( or a loose connection to it ) in the door itself. The inner door panel will most likely have to be removed, the lock actuator (or motor) tested and, if defective, replaced.
