SOURCE: 2000 grand marquis cruise control not working

Have seen this problem before. You need to look under dash at brake pedal and find a blue switch with plunger contacting pedal, disconnect connector and jump with a peice of wire and drive to see if cruise works and if it does replace deactivation switch this should get you going.

SOURCE: where are the spark plugs located on a 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis

There are eight COPs (coil-on-plugs) to remove. Using a 7mm or 9/32" socket, remove each bolt securing each COP to the intake manifold on top of the engine. Remove all eight COPs, and the spark plugs are underneath. When replacing the spark plugs, use only the proper Ford/Motorcraft plugs, even if they cost twice as much as the aftermarket ones. You will avoid further headaches this way. Hope this helps.

94 GRAND MARQUIS IN LINE CRUISE CONTROL FUSE (2 AMP) KEEPS BLOWING.

I suggest you try a fuse with a little more amperage perhaps four. If this blows there is a short in the wire most likely going from the steering wheel down the column. Over the years the constant movement can chafe the wire and let the inside of wire touch the column to short it out. Try to pay attention when the fuse blows, such as when turning the steering, or adjusting the steering wheel if you have a tilt wheel. These are notorious for failure of turning signals, high low beam switch, and cruise failure.

Flasher relay in a 98 mercury grand marquis?

The fuse block the relay is located in is behind the knee bolster, the trim panel under the steering column, left of the steering column underneath the dash. Common source of problems if that does not fix it is the Light Control Module ( LCM), turn signal switch unit, headlight switch.

Cruise control quit working

Start with the fuse and if fuse is not blown check to make sure the CC circuit is actually turning on (cruise light when you arm the system) this will confirm you have power. If none of that backtrack to see where power stops. The CC is normally a vacuum controlled system so check under the hood an look for loose or disconnected vacuum lines to the CC unit.

1988 merc grand marquis, vacuum diapram, symptoms? any gear i put it into, i hear a vacuum like sound, is this it?

The 1988 merc has an automatic emergency brake release that has a valve on the steering column under the dash, when you put the tranny in gear it sends vacuum to the valve on the brake to release it. It could be the valve on the steering column that is the problem. Good luck!

Had a repair to my 1993 mercury grand marquis LS. The cruise control was a recall and had to be replaced. since the new control was installed I now have no dash lights or rear running lights. My question...

Possibly if they messed with the control on the steering column. If your lights are controlled from the same wand as the cruise, I would check the connection there.

2000 mercury grand marquis HVAC air distribution problem. Air comes out defrost vents regardless of control settings.

there is a vacuum motor that controls direction for air flow. when there is a vacuum leak, the control door defaults to the defrost vent. the motor, vacuum lines and directional control knob must be inspected. most of the time i have found that there is a vacuum line broken. purchasing a repair manual will help locate and discribe the system.

94 grand marquis cruise control does not work and air bag lite blinks on and off. Are these two problems associated together ?

Hello dogjasper.
Both of these issues will be caused by a part under the steering wheel called a "clockspring".
This part allows the transfer of electrical energy through a plastic spring with wire leads impregnated into it.
The plastic over time will crack and the wire along with it.
The clockspring carries current for both the air bag and your cruise control.
The steering wheel will need to be removed to access this part to be replaced.

Cruise control for 1994 mercury sable four door sedan not working

There are numerous things that can cause this. A fuse, a vacuum leak, a bad switch in the steering column. The switch in the steering column is usually the culprit but is also the hardest and most expensive to change. Best way to find out is to plug it into a computer and see if it reveals any trouble codes.
Also of the many things that can go wrong outside of replacing the servo controller.
Check the servo deactivation switch. Located on the brake pedal arm under he dash. This will require you to remove the black plastic duct fot shield to expose the under dash area. It only has 4 plastic speed grommets. You will see to switches on this brake arm.
The lower one activates the brake lights. The upper one deactivates the cruise control and is a common failure in 1998-2002 Ford mercury Crown Vics and Marquis. Remove the connector(also known as connector c223), and check the continuity of the switch opened or closed. It should change from infinite to a short using a standard voltage meter set to ohms or continuity and pushing the brake pedal.
Also Fuse number 1 (15amp blue fuse) located there under the dash as well, is the primary fuse for the cruise control servo. In most cases you will see this ok
