Open hood manually - Uplander Chevrolet Cars & Trucks

To open the hood of a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica with a dead battery, try these steps:
Find hood release lever: Usually located on left side of driver's footwell near the hood release cable.
Jump-start battery: Connect battery to another car's battery if it's completely dead. This will provide enough power to release the hood latch.
Use manual release: If jump-starting is not possible, consult owner's manual for manual release location.
Get help: If unsuccessful, call for help from a tow truck or mechanic.
Caution: Make sure the car is in park, emergency brake is engaged and engine is off before opening the hood.

Normally, the cable snaps off from behind the cabin release lever. In that case you can pull the cable end with Locking Grips. If it has broken at the hood end, and they have a history of it, there are videos in the link to get in through the grill.

Get behind and pull the wire with grips. If it is broken inside the hood, it is not so easy.

Sounds like your hood latch is worn out. When this happens the hood cable gets stretched out and will prevent the hood from opening. The best thing to do is where you pull the leaver to open the hood , disconnect the cable from the latch you pull and use a pair of pliers to pull it and it should pop right open.

Try using a screw driver to reach the hood release under the hood. You may need to pry the hood up a little to reach it. The electronic release is there as a secondary latch for safety. You can still open it up if you can get to the manual release.

unfortunately there is little more than just forcing it open. this will cause damage and the hood latch may need to be replaced. but it will get you open

the hood latch is out of adjustment loosen three bolts and pry latch up retighten bolts also check cable isnt stuck in the open position spray with lube

While pulling on the hood lever have someone else push down and pull up on hood. If that does not work you will have to try to open it manually by trying reach up and pulling the lever right on the latch. My guess is the latch is gummed up with dirt or the cable is stretched. it can be achieved by laying under the front of the car and tripping the hood latch manually ...replaced those cables many of times and opened many hoods that way

NO there is no manual way . get a good flash light and look at teh latch through the grill or from under the truck and try and pop it with a long flat blade screw driver
