Question about 2003 Lincoln Aviator

Driver's window down

I can hear the mechanism sliding against the driver's window when trying to raise or lower the window, but the window is all the way down. How do I get the panel off and can I replace (probably the regulator) myself? Thanks, Aric

The window has slid off the track. If you can get the door panel off (usually just clips holding it on), then you can manually pull the window up so it sits properly on the track.

Why does driver side window lower completely but only raise about an inch?

It appears that the mechanism may be binding in the upward direction of travel. Remove the inner door panel and check the movement out.

Who do I remove rear seat for a BMW 760li?

Most rear seats need to be unlatched from the very bottom on each side. Try sliding the driver and passenger seats fully forward. With your back against the front seat press forward toward the trunk on the bottom of the rear seat on one corner at a time near the floor and lift up. This should release the latch. To replace the seat simply slide the seat back into place with the front slightly raised upward and push the seat in toward the trunk then push down til you hear the latch catch.

2005 cavalier regulator not functioning to lower front driver side window. window is in up position. cannot hear motor engaging to lower window when switch is depressed/activated. sounds activated to...

If the motor and regulator both work fine or sound like they are engaging when your try to raise the window, but you hear nothing when you try to lower the window then I think it is a pretty safe bet to say your switch is bad.

Driver side passenger window won't raise back up

It is either the motor of the switch. Operate the switch while listening where the sound is coming from in the door. Then while you are trying to raise the window, hit the interior door panel with some force, not enough to break anything, but hard enough to contact the motor. If it is binding it should allow the window to raise. If it is trying to raise it is probably the motor.

Driver side electric window

This sounds like an over-current circuit that is tripping.  If there is too much mechanical resistance, this circuit (if used) would interrupt the voltage supply to the motor to prevent overheating if the switch is held after the pane has reached either its upper or lower limit. Listen carefully to the motor while raising or lowering the window to ascertain if it sounds like a groan at some points along the travel. The window may be getting too much drag from gaskets or the elevation mechanics (possibly from rust or dry pivots) that is causing the motor to draw too much current and tripping the over-current protection.

Driver side window down and won't come up??

When you push the button to raise the window, do you hear it humming or clicking, or is it dead silent? If it's silent, the motor isn't even trying to raise the window. That's either a blown fuse, a dead window regulator, or a dead window switch. If you hear it clicking or making noises, but not coming up, it's either the regulator is messed up (but not dead), or the window has come off it's guide tracks and can't raise up.
