Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
This only occurs after this Quad truck hasn't been driven in a couple of
days. This is only on start up and doesn't do it every time. You can kick it in the **** for passing etc and it does not smoke. Even pull a 16ft trailer with tractor up a hill and it doesn't smoke. I don't know anything about these newer vehicles. Over all the truck runs good, No codes etc. Thanks
The most common cause of this is small amount of oil leaking from the valve stem seals of into the combustion chamber, it only takes a tiny amount of oil to cause the puff of smoke, after the engine starts the heat expansion seals them back up, unless the engine is using more than 1 quart every 1000 miles it is nothing to be concerned about.
