Question about 1994 Dodge Spirit

Car shudders on acceleration

My 1994 Dodge Spirit was a shaky mess. I replaced the front and rear brakes and replaced the rear wheel bearings because it needed it and I was thinking this would solve the problem. The car still shudders, but only when accelerating and especially when going up hills. On the advice of a friend, I replaced the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. It seems to have gotten slightly better (unless it's my imagination) but the car still shudders incredibly.

I'd check the motor mounts. Shuddering upon acceleration indicates movement of the engine inside the compartment. Best of luck.

On my 2000 Dodge stratus SE I hear a Loud Growling/vibration noise on my car when speeding up or stay at a speed. when I turn Right I dont hear it its when I drive straight that i hear it. I took it to a...

Have you checked the REAR whell bearings? Sometimes even when the noise appears to come from the front, the rear bearing can be the ones. Happende to me in my older Spirit R/T. By spinning the rear Wheel with an old impulsor motor in a Wheel balancing/alignment shop, the technician showed me that it wasn't a front drive problema, but rear bearings getting some moisture inside and going bad. It made a worse glowl when turning to one side. Amclaussen.

The rear right tire is stuck and will not move.

Jack up the car and remove the right rear wheel. Check to see if the brake is frozen on (drum brake - you should be able to pull off the drum; disk brake, you should be able to slide a piece of stiff paper between the caliper and rotor). If the brake is locked on, first see if the parking brake cable is jammed in its housing at the wheel.

If it is not the brake, your wheel bearing may be seized up. You'll have to pull it apart and replace it, and you may also have to replace the axle (if the axle is bent, galled, cracked or discolored, it's a risk for breakage, which is at least as dangerous as a tire blowout).

My rear wheel shudders and its hard to brake

Rear Wheel problem is most likely bad wheel bearings. When you were tightening these did the Tire Rim Holes have damage?
Wheel Lugs should be tightened to 100 ft-lbs.
Get also a four wheel alignment.
On the Brakes issue: Is there enough brake fluid in the Master Cylinder Reservoir? It sounds like there is air in the system, or incorrect fluid. Did the Brake Fluid level fall below the minimum level at any time in the reservoir? If so there could be air in the Master Cylinder. You can bleed the Master Cyclinder while still on the vehicle. Let me know if you need to do this; I let you know step-by-step.
Is there Brake Fluid leaking anywhere? Check especially on the inside portions of the wheels looking for brake fluid. That leak will have to be fixed first.
Bleed all the brakes. Start at the right rear, then left rear, then right front, then finish with the left front. Use two (2) helpers to do this. One person adding fluid into the Master Cylinder while the other pumps and eventually holds the brake pedal, while you lossen and then tighten down the brake bleeder ports.
Let me know if this helped or if you have additional questions or information. Feel free to contact me at!

How to change a rear wheel bearing on a 1994 toyota camry

The rear wheel bearing on a toyota camry is replaced by replacing the wheel bearing and hub as a unit. this is a design change as compare to older models with two piece wheel bearings. Scotch drive wheels. Remove rear wheel. Remove rear brake drum. (note: if emergency brakes are applied you will not be able to remove brake drum) Remove dust cap and hub retaining nut. Hub should slide off as unit. Replace hub with new unit. Installation is reverse of removal.
