Steps to change the heater core on a toyota echo 2001

At the user end it is not possible to replace the heater core at home.
It requires to remove the complete dash board assembly, and many other relating parts and sub assemblies.
Better to get the job done by some workshop.

Toyota echo floor heater problems

Check passenger side, under dash, make sure any loose linkage is actually attached to the baffle levers. I had this happen. Passenger accidently kicked the linkage off and suddenly we had no heat. It was seriously cold inside. Mechanic showed me the linkage disconnect on passenger side under the dash right under the glove compartment.

2000 Toyota Echo Coolant System Air Locked

check your heater tap in the engine bay ...they usually ran off a vacuum hose.
If the system was not bled properly..ie by filling the radiator WHILE the bleed screw is open you will get an airlock.
the bleed screw is usually on or near the thermostat housing.
The water level must be higher than the top on the engine (I use a piece of PVC pipe in the radiator filler to do this.)

Also make sure the thermostat is not stuck in the closed position.

2003 Toyota Echo heat not working. Fan, but no heat.

There is a valve on one of the heater hoses that allows heated water to flow through the heater core when you select heat. With heat selected and car warmed up check to see if both of the hoses feel warm. If not then water is not flowing through heater core and valve may need replaced or heater core is stopped up.
