SOURCE: temperture icon flashes

if the light is blue it just means the car is not at operating temperature yet. let the car warm up before driving. if the light is red and only stays on for seconds check the coolant level. could possibly be a bad level sensor also if the light is red

SOURCE: Temperture gauge goes up when climbing a hill in the heat of day

You could have a:

1) failing thermostat (bad)

2) failing water pump (worse)

3) failing head gasket (worst)

Or possibly, radiator problems.

You need to have this checked and fast. If #3 is true, you could be warping your head right now.

Temp. guage indicates overheat 10 mins. from startup

Hi Reggie, I'm glad to help. TWO things I want you to check. ONE: You have changed out a lot of stuff, so you may have air trapped in the cooling system, you'll need to remove the radiator cap and let it run until your at operating temperture, while watching to make sure it doesn't overheat on your of-course. If after running the engine say 30 minutes and topping off the coolant if needed, it still runs hot. Move on to: TWO: If you have the electric fan, some do, some don't. If it is electric make sure the fan is coming on, if it doesn't come on then you have found your problem, replace the fan assembly. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Reggie!

Mark viii 95 temperture gauge is going up to the n in the normal but the engine isnt smoking heating and no water is boiling what is it?

"N" is approximately 165'F, on the cooler side of operating temperature. "L" is on the hot side at approximately 230'F.

Temperture will not rise

If the engine really is not heating up, the thermostat could be stuck open. Or you could be low on coolant and the gauge is not reading correctly.
Or if the engine is warming up, the sensor for the gauge could be faulty.

06 Kia Sedona overheats when ac is on. If the ac is off the van will return to normal temps. Had the compressor just replaced and v-belt. Both fans appear to be running when ac is on.

Does the engine over heat or the gauge goes to hot. Really hot. Since the A/C is on , this puts an extra load on the engine. This is why the fans come on when the A/C is turned on. This is usually low speed fan mode. High speed doesn't come on untilll 220 to 230 degrees. Most vehicles. Cars don't over heat untill the gauge gets in the red, when it starts getting close is time to worry and stop. I guess the question to you would be, What does the temp gauge read?

My temperture gauge on the dash is reading as if my cars over hea

There's probably air in your system. Next to the water pump is a stand pipe with a bleeder screw. Loosen this and run the engine until coolant starts to bubble out. Air in the system will keep coolant from flowing and the engine will over heat.

Engine does not appear to be hot. Gauge says extreme heat

try replacing your temperature sending switch. That it what tells your gauge or idiot light where to read or light to come on. It may have a short in it. Or a short between the two.

Temperture Gage

First of all, it doesn't sound like your thermostat is working correctly to keep good hot/warm air coming , so I would change that, or have it changed for better heating inside. If you lift the hood & look in front of your radiator, On the engine side, you'll see a fan attached to, or in front of the radiator. It won't come on until the coolant temperature gauge gets up to proper operating temperature. Without getting in to too much detail, have your thermostat changed, and my guess is everything else will start working as it should, and whoever does the work, should know enough to check the fan operation when they do the thermostat.

No heat

As for the fan your blower resistor is in need of replacement.
To address the heat problem I'll need to know a couple of things
1. Does your vans temp gauge read in the normal range or is it running low(after you've driven it for at least 10 min
2. Is the out side temp really cold?
