Question about 1997 Ford Explorer AWD

1997 ford explorer needs air cond. freon

Im not sure where i hook up the air cond freon charger under the hood of my explorer because i dont have the owners manual where would i find a free manual or is there some one that knows where i would put it ?

    this system does not use Freon it uses R134A refrigerant.

Looking at your engine, you should have two caps on the passenger side of the car, fairly easy to see..

check that, and it will show you what I mean :). make sure you use the right tip, as their are diffrent sizes, and you dont want to spray yourself, that would not be a good idea.

Cant find the plug for the control actuator on a Ford E150. Door is not switching so only cold air is blowing.


What year E150 ? Manual or automatic HVAC ? What door isn't switching ? Mode door , temp. door ? Some ford's have a valve under the hood hooked to heater hoses called hot water valve , allow hot coolant to go through the heater core . Ford Explorer 1992 heater control valve install Explorer E150 doesn't matter ford used on all there vehicles ! Some are vacuum controlled others are controlled by a cable !

Can't add freon to 2002 ford explorer air conditioner


try hosing down the condenser with water from a hose, makes the freon condense more. On the other hand, are u sure it needs more freon and there isnt another problem?

1997 Explorer Hood is not completly closed to


Sat on the hood and pulled the outside hood release lever. The air filter case was causing the air supply hose to the intake to hit on the bottom of the hood. Looking from the side of the fender, you could see that the air filter case and hose was above the fender causing the obstruction. Pulled air filter case away from fender monut 1/2 inch and had hood clearance.

does the AC compressor run under the hood? if not u have lost the charge out of the system and u have a leak..

I am not sure what you are talking about, but the problem kinda sounds like the blower motor resistor.
