My 2006 GMC Envoy won't start and the battery is good and all the fluids are full, how would I locate the starter to check to see if that was the problem?

Ne side starter is mounted against the face of the transmission on oof the engine (usually on the right side) Under the car. There should be 12v at the main lead and 12v at the small (trigger) terminal when the key is turned to the start position. If no power there, check neutral switch and ign switch. You also need to check and verify 12v at the battery and that all connections are clean and secure at both ends of each cable.

Would a dead battery stop your key from turning on in a 2003 gmc envoy

Sounds like a flat battery. Just enough to power your lights but not enough to power the starter motor. Try recharging the battery.and check battery connections are good.

My2006 envoy having problems starting

Battery problem. Start with both cables. Make absolutely there is no corrosion on the ends. Clean with baking soda and water. Hheck the water level in each cell . Add water to just cover any exposed battery plates. Charge the battery with a battery charger. Try starting again. If you still have the problem check the starter solenoid on the starter itself. Take the starter motor off and have it tested.

Cant turn ignition over envoy 2002

If you mean that the engine won't turn over to allow the car to start then you probably have a dead battery or bad starting motor or relay. Get battery checked to start. If battery is good check that battery voltage goes to starter through relay, relays go bad sometimes. Finally if voltage at starter then it is most likely the starter that is bad.

Car alarm goes off when I use the key to open doors or start engine on my 2006 GMC Envoy. Problem started when I installed new battery.

Not familiar with the envoy, but most all GMC trucks have a alarm reset button under the dash by the steering column to reset after battery problems. Why did you change the battery? It may also be your starter has shorted out which will set off the alarm. Good Luck

I am having problen with my 2003 GMC Envoy. My battery is full charge and all power and lights are working, except the engine is not turning over?

what you are telling me norrows it down to a couple of things.but i would suspect a broken netural wire if you know how to check for power on the starter circuit take a good look under the hood /bonnet check the wires from the battery to the starter there should be three,black/red and an little onechech all three one is not touching it could broke /rusted or something go on you can find the fault.if all fails the starter solinoid is gone.adrian,,,,,

2002 GMC Envoy, i put the key in ignition and vehicle will not start sometimes and other times is starts fine. we have checked the starter, battery and battery connections, all fine. Changed the starter...

Ignition switch and neutral safety switch. Next time it happens wiggle thekeys in the ignition switch and try to restart. If it starts its probably the ignition switch. Then locate neutral safety switch on brake pedal and put meter on B+ wire from switch to starter relay and see if you get B+ on the would -be- crank. Next locate B+ wire from starter relay to starter hook a meter to it and see if you get B+ on the would -be crank.
Where ever B+ is missing is your problem.
