Question about Hyundai Motor 1996 Elantra
Just wondering how hard it would be to change this myself.
I have been quoted at least $1000 for the job to be done at the local garage
Once you take the head off it needs to be straightened , surface ground and then the valves need to be re-seated and the guides need to be checked and honed. After all this thye cam tunnels also nee to be check and if they are not straight they have to tunnel bored. All this can cost up to $800 plus $150 for gaskets $30 for new bolts and then labour so 1000.00 is a good price.

I beleive these are front wheel drives, alot of work if not experienced i wouldnt try it, it is alot of work, lots of parts and pieces.
if you have a manual and your good at fixing things you'll probably do ok, but i bet youll regret doing it,
